Have you checked in your key mapping file under shading to see if ALT + S didn't "somehow" get changed?

Using a desktop.

Changed it over to Alt+Q and works fine.

We have seven seats of MasterCam ranging from Design to Mill Level 3. We have never had a problem with the ALT+S until now. In the past two weeks Ive replaced two of our computers. They are both XP and the ALT+S doesnt work on either one. I did as msf24 did and changed them to ALT+Q but that is a pain after using ALT+S for the past 10 years. If anyone has found a fix for this I would love to know.

do you F keys work? There is an "F Lock" function on some keyboards that can mess with hot keys, but I don't know about alt+s specifically.

Have you tried on Win7 to run the compatibility mode as administrator. Some people right click on the icon and say run as administrator and that is not the same as right click properties then compatibility tab then check the run as administrator check box.

 

For XP have you tied erasing the mcam.config file and mastercam.mtb and mastercam.kmp file and reopen and see if the alt-s works again. Sometimes there get strange things going on and erasing them and letting Mastercam rewrite them helps.
