Bug with length offsets

I stumbled across a new bug where Mastercam will post the wrong length offset if a tool is modified. This was repeatable and here is what I did.

1. start a new file and import tools from tool library in the tool manager.

2. open a second tool library and bring in a few more tools (drills, etc...) while in the tool manager

3. program the geometry to completion

4. Post and notice that H and T offsets match correctly

5. Go back to tool manager and adjust the speeds and feeds of the tools brought from the second tool library

6. Regenerate dirty ops

7. repost and the H and T offsets do not match for the adjusted tools

I machine aluminum 95% of the time and today I needed to machine steel so I modified the speeds and feeds in the tool manager so I wouldn't have to keep doing it in every operation. I had to manually adjust every length offset at the machine because they were incorrect. I also have Mastercam set to assign these values to the tool as they are brought into the library. Has anyone else encountered this?

Open the parameter page of one of the OPS that

didn't post properly.

Look at the Length and Diameter offset values.

Now reselect the tool.. they should change to the proper

values.

For some reason the system is not updating changes

made to tools in the library.. to be sure the

changes have taken effect you need to open the

operation and reselect the tool..then the change will stick

I have not been able to replicate this reliably enough

to file a bug report

The tool parameters were not correct so I manually changed them and they still posted incorrectly. For some reason this would only affect the tools from the second tool library.

Sure is... in the control def, go to operation defaults on the left side, scroll the big window up to the top, right under machine group 1 you will see properties just like in the operations manager, go into there and change it just like you would in the operations manager, save then exit the control def.

Sweet! Got it

I don't suppose you'd enlighten me in how to get the H & D values to follow suit?

Currently coming up 0 (zero)

Its embarrassing to have to ask what seems to be simple questions but I've learned to suck it up and embrace my ignorance ever since they pried V9 out of my chubby lil fingers B)
