Dynamic core mill

Hi Everyone - Could someone please help me with this toolpath .

When I backplot or verify this toolpath it shows that it's going to deep .

The tool is set to .375 deep and when I run the toolpath it cuts at the correct

deep . Just looking for some help on what I'm doing wrong . Thanks for any help .

It runs correctly for me. Shows it .375 deep in backplot and verify. What is it showing when you backplot or verify it?

X6 ... haven't installed MU1 yet .

That may be the problem ?

It could be the problem. MC is up to MU2 now. I had lots of issues with X6, but it runs pretty good in MU2 now.

In the Toolpath Parameters under the Cut Parameters branch there is a Tip Comp option, you have that set to center being a bullnose endmill it drops down the radius amount. Change it to Tip.

It will say Mastercam X6 MU2 in the top left corner of your screen.

Strange, here it runs the same depth for both settings.

I beleive this was a bug in X6.. can't remember if it was fixed in MU1 or 2

I'f you cam I would definetly install MU1 or MU2 if your license allows it

I installed MU2 today . Sorry I should have noticed tip comp .

2d hs toolpaths the tip comp default setting is in the center also in MU1 and MU2. I cannot believe how they did not notice it.

are you sure you havn't imported defaults from an earlier release?

This IS fixed..

I did a fresh X6 MU2 install on a workstation yesterday.. and that install and the install on my workstation is "Tip"

for 2D high speed toolpaths.

 

I think (????) this bug was introduced in X4 and fixed in X4Mu1 or X5

I did update the defaults from X5mu1. The first time I used 2d hs toolpaths in X6 I got a note that there was no default file available so I made changes and save. I also lost the 2d hs toolpath defaults when I updated to X6MU1 and MU2 and had to set them all again.
