Hey Hardmill,

If that's a Hanita cutter that your'e smiling from (looks identical), then I will be using this later today on A2 drawn back to 56Rc - .438 axial .001 remains, .25 radial .002 remains.

I was thinking about helixing to size with a .025 "Z" sweep, (feed & speed -any suggestions?)

Now since I will be cutting these today - I will envision the blinking face (If I scrap out the eight parts then I'm afraid that I will hold your avatar as responsible. biggrin.gif

Regards, Jack

What is the matter with Swiss made?

Absolutly nothing at all. Good quality stuff comes from Switzerland. I was adhereing to the premise of this thread bemoning the fact that a Domestic Toolmaker, Starrett, would resort to branding imported tools. Starrett isnt the only company doing this. Some companies just do it better than others. Case in point being Browne & Sharpe. I do prefer Starrett mics 'tho.

I know this comment is gonna xxxx people off (like Brendan the Harley boy):

Starrett is the Harley Davidson of measuring tools.

They sell the a product with quality similar, or inferior, to foreign product at a higher price because the name is known.

Athol, MA better hope Starrett doesn't take it all overseas as I don't there is anything else keeping the tumbleweeds from rolling through that place [..wolf howling..]

Brown and Sharpe rocks

Afraid to drop their (Starrett) Tools.

Out of curiosity my favorite bike was a HD Road King. What foriegn product would be in the same league as this bike?.

I could use a good laugh.

Aaahhhh....

didn't you read my prior post.

I use B&S,Interapid and Eatalon....

I don't own any Starret (noticed I spelled it right Chris) biggrin.gif

precision measuring instruments.

I don't care for them that much.

As far as Harley's go,when I did drive a harley,I had to (as many others do)throw away half of the crap that they put on them!

And then I just replaced it with new aftermarket crap!

This is why I decided to build my own bike.

Harley couldn't build me a nice enough or fast enough one.

Mine "IS" all American made! cheers.gif
