X7 and CodeMeter?

I believe Code Meter is used for licensing the MT module

I've been told the HASP is going away sometime in the future and Code Meter

will replace it... and they are integrating it into the software in baby steps

At any rate, DO NOT install it.. or you will be doing your whole X7 install over

Don't uninstall CodeMeter....there are places in the Mastercam code that depend on it.

The need to say something about this in the Info box on the down load site

or have a pop up warning during install as people don't recognize it, uninstall it then wonder why

they are having trouble with X7

well uninstalled all of X7 and codemeter, deleted all folders, and defragmented my hard disk. Started a fresh install and it did not give me a choice on installing the codemeter. can i just uninstall that? or go in my administrative tools and dis-able it like rocheey1?? Was this covered somewhere in the stickies?

i think i know what may have happened, i broke the cardinal rule and used migration on one folder yesterday didn't restart it and had no problem yesterday, only until this morning after starting up my computer. :realmad: that needs to be removed as an option :rtfm: . oh well

I kept getting an error message that said "Windows could not compile your user information". I had to boot my computer from a restore point.

OK, so you know it was Codemeter how?

I have seen MANY systems that have underlying issues that show up at installation of something,

I'm curious how you arrive at the issue?

It "almost" sounds like a profile that was corrupt

I haven't had problems with my profile after I restored my computer and I didn't reinstall x7.

My computer hasn't had problems since. That was like three months ago.

Be that as it may, none of the has ANY empirical data that Codemeter was your issue
