Remote Access no SIM found

Hi,

I have set my laptop up so I can access my Desktop from home. I am using OpenVPN software (mandated by the company here). It hooks up great and I can see both monitors etc. If Mastercam is already open I can access it but I can not start it up from scratch. It says no SIM found. I have a hasp plugged directly into the front of my desktop USB.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

The driver does not support it.

When you try to launch, it wants to look at your local system USB ports.

If you "really" need to access from elsewhere, you'll need a Nethasp instead of a SIM

Will need to be a Nethasp then John

That doesn't work. I have nethasp and get sim not found during RDP. I even had help from my dealer on custom launch scenario, no go. If anyone is really doing this with windows RDP and a net hasp it would be cool if they post specifics.

Could we just make this simple and take the hasp home with you? Not sure if thats an option for you but if it is you can just install mastercam on the home computer and just bring the hasp home with you.

That works great,... until someone forgets their hasp at home, most companies have a policy concerning license keys, leaving the premises

I had many customers doing just this when I was working for a reseller

The standard was "it isn't supported" but it does work

There are many here that do this

I have had great success with this and using MCX at home. Worked with our license server for NX so I had NX at home as well. I had MCX and NX installed on my computer at home and used Hamachi to connect to the license server to check out a license. No remote desktop here.
