So I just started using a Space mouse and while I can see it being nice to have around the one part that seems cumbersom is that it is allways is rotaing around the orignal XYZ zero of the model. Is there a way to make it rotate around the current WCS or change the point of rotation.

I personaly dont use a space mouse, just never have, however a friend at work uses one, he just now went to X8 and in the simulator his space mouse dosent work for his "rotation point" everything else does (zoom and stuff), and I dont know what to tell him, as I dont know the space mouse. Any ideas?

We added a utility to select a rotation center point for X9

Also, it'll use the same COR as Mastercam, you only need to use the function in simulator if you want a different one than you had in the main window.

As a note, this is personal preference:  I always found the stock settings horribly backwards, I always set mine to zoom in and out with an up/down motion instead of front/back push, it makes it seem a lot more intuitive to me:

I was that way until someone told me 'think of it as you're holding the part and you're pulling it towards yourself or pushing it away', that made it click and then I really liked the space mouse / default settings

Yeah, it's the difference between thinking of something machine-centric (I'm the spindle, closer is straight up, further is straight down) vs. thinking of the space you're designing in as a desk (closer is along towards, further is along away)..  I'm a machine-oriented person, I guess :)

Don't worry, though, Jay gives me enough crap about it every time he sees me that I'm covered!

Oneyankfan1 - Correct, there is nothing you can do about it in X8.  You know better than to ask that, I can't say any dates, other than "soon' :)
