1) A legal Seat of the latest version of Mastercam.

2) Permission from [email protected]

3) The blessing from your reseller (which QC gets before you get the OK

4) Sign agreement stating you won't disclose what you know about the beta software.

You know, the usual stuff.

To the best of my knowledge it does not matter what level you have.

The reason resellers are asked is because "problem customers" most likely are not good candidates for beta testing. They generally lack patience and you need patience to be a good beta tester. Often you need to work an issue several times before you can repeat it. You also need to have e-mail (for bug reporting). If you can't tolerate bugs then Beta Testing is not for you. If you enjoy challenges then you might be a good candidate.

Also when testing it often helps to be able to find "work arounds". This sometimes helps in fixing the issue.

The QC folks at Mastercam are very gracious and helpful. When I was testing V9.1 Beta I ran into an issue pretty late (6:30pm PST) and Ken Fortier (QC Manager I believe) got me a patch to try out right away. This happened a couple of times.

What's in it for you as a beta tester?

The only real thing in it for the individual is that satisfaction factor that knowing you found a "glitch", reported it and it got fixed for the greater cause for all.

You get to see the next version before anybody else.

You get to see your ideas show up in the next release.

You get to work with some of the best minds in the

CAD/CAM business.

and

sometimes ....

You get to turn your computer into a flowerpot

when you load up a not-ready for primetime beta

version. tongue.gif

All kidding aside... I concider it an honor to be a beta site for Mastercam.

You orinal av was good to, cause it shows you dont take yourself too seriously, which is a good thing.

I've been debating whether to use:

A} Paww Rugg from HillBilly Bears (If you've ever talked to me on phone you understand. I type faster than I talk.)

B} Company Logo

C} Johnny Bravo - My favorite cartoon

D} Something from MATRIX (it has us)

Oh yeah, Katie says I should use Grumpy from seven dwarves.
