It is related to a bounding or welding symbol maybe to a laser process?

IDK. The associated note calls for a press fit per B4.1 class FN2. So I wouldn't think it's welded.

EDIT: The only this I can find is welded flush, and I think the M might mean machined.

Every reference I can think of doesn't show this symbol. I would like to know what is means as I have never seen it before. Please report back what you find out.

I've seen it with counterbores but it usually has values for depth and diameter.

This sort of thing always annoys me. Perhaps I need to get out more...

The symbols are supposed to be universally understood rather than using language and writing the word "C/BORE".

However, rant aside  I think it's a cad jockey balls up. I've never seen it and spent 5 minutes googling and come up with nothing.

We know it's a counterbore, but as for the line underneath it or the "M", who knows.

Ray - If in doubt, ASK!

Its a weld symbol for plug or slot. The M stands for machine and the line is for flat. So weld in a plug and machine it flat. All standard symbols in the drafting world.

Not sure about the wording of your statement :D .... But you I think you';re correct in the fact that the underline is a straightness call out (in the machining world) but appears to be a flush callout in the welding world. As the plug is round and the part is round, I'm asuming it would mean press it so it is under flush opposed to press it above flush and re-machine it so it is round and lovely and smooth so you don't see it...
