  1. We're using collet holders. Spindle bearings "should" be fine. The machine's (Hurco VM1) around 2 years old, maybe 3.

  2. Marshal, Questions for you. tool holder what type? (shrink, hydraulic, collet, or set screw) spindle bearing condition? machine age? the reason i ask is the difference you saw between 30 & 45 helix angle could be a spindle bearing problem. only three coatings i use on aluminum viper stealth , zirconium , and amorfic diamond , or uncoated polished carbide. 35k

  5. Hi, I have to mill a .062 full radius slot... I have two points that are .130 apart... How can I ramp (zig zag back and fourth to depth) in between these two points with a .125 ball end mill to create these slots.... I have been trying a few different things and nothing seems to help.... Thanks

  12. The color problem is related to the new solid face shading. Go to the solids menu and clear all solid face colors

  13. I have just tested the solid color options. I have no problem changing colors either the whole part or selected surfaces. Do you have use group colors turned off in your settings? if not make sure you turn it off.

  14. Ok, just tested the create-curve-all edges on a solidworks solid using X5 and it worked well. I know that the create-curve-all edges would fail in previous versions of MC if the solid had some type of construction issue.

  15. Im not sure about the color yet, but I think the creat edge curves is off by default in X5. You just have to go to your settings and turn it on.

  16. I can open a solidworks file using X5 and have it include the edge curves or not. I had a little trouble saving my X5 work as an X2 file until I realized that I needed to select Pre-X5 version, THEN options to select the X2 version. I have not tried to create-curve-all edges yet.

  19. I'll look into this. Looks like it is a Win7 issue, because the settings stick on my "old" Vista. @Supercar 2006 Not all files. Don't copy the DLLs.
