  1. Are the guys who are having problems running XP 64-bit edition?
  2. Hi guys, We're looking into this issue, but we could use some information from users affected by this problem: - What operating system are you using? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit? - Is anyone using command line switches in the shortcut when starting Mastercam? If so, what are they? - What versions of Mastercam do you have installed? - When you installed Mastercam X2 MR2, did you migrate from X2 MR1? - Please send [email protected] the following two files: C:WINDOWSSoftwareDistributionReportingEvents.log and C:WindowsWindowsUpdate.log. Title the email something along the lines of "Windows update crash." Thanks in advance. [ 11-15-2007, 03:13 PM: Message edited by: Chris Bell, CNC Software ]
  3. Hello everyone - Patch 2 for Mastercam X2 MR2 is now available on the X2 Downloads section of Mastercam.com as well on the Extranet. This patch addresses a major problem with helix and ramp entry moves in X2 MR2 HST toolpaths. The initial release of Mastercam X2 MR2 introduced a bug that would remove the entry moves, causing the tool to gouge the part. The patch will update two *.dlls and will not change the display of the Mastercam title bar (i.e. it will not read Mastercam X2 MR2 Patch 2). It is not necessary to have Patch 1 on your system to install Patch 2. This will also be available via the Update Service on Monday, October 29th. Download "mastercamx2-mr2-patch002.exe" and double-click on it to run the installation. Make sure Mastercam is closed before running the installation. See the chart in the following link to determine if the correct files were installed on your system: http://www.mastercam.com/Support/Downloads...r2-patch002.htm . If you have any problems or suggestions, please email [email protected]. Thank you. [ 10-27-2007, 12:55 AM: Message edited by: Chris Bell, CNC Software ]
  4. FYI: The patch has been changed and the correct splash screen is now displayed. We just wanted to get some public feed back to see what everyone though; a splash screen beta if you will
  5. SolidEdge and SolidWorks both no longer support Windows 2000, and X2 MR2 will be the last Mastercam release that is officially supported on Win2k.
  6. All- Patch 1 for Mastercam X2 MR2 is now available on the X2 Downloads section of Mastercam.com as well on the Extranet. This patch is a translator update for X2 MR2. The initial release of Mastercam X2 MR2 was unable to import SolidWorks 2008 or SolidEdge V20 part files. The patch will update the Mastercam translators, which will allow these files to be opened. These translators will NOT function on a Windows 2000 machine. The same executable is also available via the Update Manager. The title bar and Mastercam version will NOT change after the patch is installed. Download "mastercamx2-mr2-patch001.exe" and double-click on it to run the installation. Make sure Mastercam is closed before running the installation. Product | File Name | File Size | File Version X2 MR2 | commonsworksdataSwDocumentMgr.dll | 5626kb | 16.0.0.3066 X2 MR2 | commonedgedataSEPartReader.dll | 11348kb | 19.0.0.64 X2 MR2 Patch 1 | commonsworksdataSwDocumentMgr.dll | 5674kb | 16.0.0.9034 X2 MR2 Patch 1 | commonedgedataSEPartReader.dll | 11776kb | 20.0.0.96 If you have any problems or suggestions, please email [email protected]. 7. Hi guys, This has been logged as bug number cnc00030781. Thanks.
  8. All, Mastercam X2 MR2 is now available on the Support Downloads section of Mastercam.com. Please report any issues to [email protected]. Thanks!
  9. Hi Darryl, Also, make sure you don't have any third-party mouse drivers installed. Thanks.
  10. Doyleg - In short, the 'Station Parameters' XYZ offset is the distance between the spindle center and the tool center, while the Block Anchor Point is the offset distance between the block and the reference point on the machine. Bogusmill - Add a Flex Aggregate component to your Tool Spindle as a child in the Machine Definition Manager. You can then define two stations for 90 and 0 degrees if you desire (just use the same Machine View Angle), or you can define just 1 station and adjust the Tilt Angle when selecting the tool in Tool Manager, depending on what you need it to be.
  11. Hello All, Mastercam X2 MR1 SP1 is now available for download. To download X2 MR1 SP1, please click the following link: http://www.mastercam.com/Support/Downloads...X2/Default.aspx. Next, right-click "mastercamx2-mr1-servicepack001.exe," select "Save link as" and choose a download location. Once you have downloaded the *.exe file, double-click it and follow the installation instructions. Keep in mind that X2 MR1 must be installed on your system since SP1 runs on top of X2 MR1 (it is not a standalone installation.) Please note that an "Uninstall" folder will be created within your X2 MR1 directory. These are the backed up X2 MR1 files which are restored if X2 MR1 SP1 is uninstalled. To uninstall X2 MR1 SP1, go into Control Panel and double-click the “Add/Remove Programs” applet followed by clicking “Remove” next to “Mastercam X2 MR1 Service Pack 1.” It is important to uninstall X2 MR1 SP1 before uninstalling X2 MR1, otherwise the "mcamx/uninstall" directory will remain and could cause problems if a future release is installed to the same location. The required maintenance date does not change if X2 MR1 SP1 is installed. If you have any problems or suggestions, please email [email protected].
  12. Hi everyone, Please send in some part files to [email protected] that display the described problems with Solid and STL stock in Verify. Try to only send the necessary operations to duplicate the problem please, there is no need to send in 200mb files. Also, include detailed instructions on how to duplicate the problem. Thanks!
  13. Sorry for the wait, guys. This bug is still scheduled to be fixed. I added this information and pushed up the priority. Thanks for the input.
  14. Mike, Is this part / operation specific? If so, can you please send in the part to [email protected] with specific instructions on how to duplicate the problem? Thanks in advance.
  15. Hello All - Mastercam X2 MR1 is now available on http://www.mastercam.com/Support/Downloads...X2/Default.aspx. Be sure to click the "Info" button and read the installation instructions. Enjoy! p.s. This is not a belated April Fools' Day joke!
  16. As Pete said, if you are going to have but X2 and X2 MR1 running on your machine, make sure you upgrade X2 with the SP1 patch. But yes, all of the fixes that were in SP1 will also be in MR1.
  17. Dual Core processors will not pose any problems with Version 9, but keep in mind that it will NOT run on a 64-bit operating system.
  18. Dragracer, When you send in the Z2G, make sure the post, machine definition and control definition are also attached. Thanks.
  19. Hi Michael, Email me ([email protected]) a screenshot of the error message you are getting. Also, what versions of Mastercam do you have on your system? What is your OS? Give me as much information as possible. Thanks in advance.
  20. To All Mastercam Resellers: We have just released Mastercam X2 SP1. Please view the Whatsnew.htm file for detailed information on the bug fixes in the service pack. The "whatsnew.htm" file can be found in the documentation folder of your X2 installation. To download X2 SP1, please click the following link: http://www.mastercam.com/Support/Downloads...X2/Default.aspx. Next, right-click "mastercamx2-servicepack001.exe," select "Save link as" and choose a download location. Once you have downloaded the *.exe file, double-click it and follow the installation instructions. Keep in mind that X2 must be installed on your system since SP1 runs on top of X2 (it is not a standalone installation.) Please note that an "Uninstall" folder will be created within your X2 directory. These are the backed up X2 files which are restored if X2 SP1 is uninstalled. To uninstall X2 SP1, go into Control Panel and double-click the “Add/Remove Programs” applet followed by clicking “Remove” next to “Mastercam X2 Service Pack 1.” It is important to uninstall X2 SP1 before uninstalling X2, otherwise the "mcamx/uninstall" directory will remain and could cause problems if a future release is installed to the same location. The required maintenance date does not change if X2 SP1 is installed. The patch is also available via the Update Service. X2 will not recognize that there is an update available if "mastercamx2-patch001.exe," also available on the Mastercam Support / Downloads section, was not previously installed. If you have any problems or suggestions, please either email [email protected] or post in the eMastercam.com Reseller forum. Thank you.
  21. Hi everyone - I added the *.zip file to the Downloads section of Mastercam.com: http://www.mastercam.com/Support/Downloads/Misc/Default.aspx. Thanks!
  22. Chris, are you running multiple versions of Mastercam (X or later) on these machines?
  23. Hi guys - The requirements to become a Beta site are 1) You must be in good financial standing with your reseller 2) Your reseller must recommend you as a strong candidate who can provide constructive feedback directly to CNC and 3) You must have active maintenance. The reasons for the first two are obvious, the third is that it was entirely too painful to deal with Beta codes, so we just made the Beta releases expire after a certain date. The only catch is now that we don't issue separate Beta codes, users must have maintenance otherwise it won't run. Even if someone does meet the above requirements, that does not guarantee that he or she will become a Beta site. We try to look for a diverse group of testers, otherwise we tend to get a overlap in the feedback we receive (i.e. my group will sometimes get the same requests / bug reports from 20 individual users, which is both good and bad.) I keep all of the potential testers on file and I add them as needed. Sometimes this takes two days, sometimes it takes two years, it all depends on what products a user runs. Users also can be removed from the Beta program for a number of reasons. The most common is that sometimes users just stop providing feedback; if I haven't received emails from someone in a year or more, chances are the person isn't looking at the beta too much, and this is understandable. No one is getting paid to test our software, and we understand how busy our testers get. Beta testing does not take precedence over making a living. Sometimes users will switch jobs, and the Beta agreement is per business, not per user. Other times a user's feedback and postings can go from constructive to malicious, or they do not "play nice" with the other testers, and they are promptly removed. Currently we have around 150 Beta testers, and as some leave the program, others will be permitted in. Managing much more than this number would become a heavy burden for us, and would take away from our time testing the product. David, I have recently heard back from Bob, and he has given his approval. It did take a little while to hear back from him, but try not to forget how much territory he has to cover. As you mentioned before, he is the only reseller in Australia. Your name has been added to my list of potential candidates. If you are having other problems with your reseller, I strongly encourage you to contact [email protected] and they will be able to help you. Posting about it on this forum will not resolve the issue, and is generally not looked too kindly upon. I hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable New Year, and I look forward to working with all of you in 2007!
  24. Hi Lou - I'm unable to duplicate this problem in a simple test part. Would it be possible for you to provide a few steps that will allow me to reproduce the bug? Feel free to send a part file into [email protected]. Thanks in advance!
  25. Patch 1 for Mastercam X2 is now available on the X2 Downloads section of Mastercam.com as well on the Extranet. X2 Patch 1 addresses a problem that prevents users from downloading patches and updates via the Update Manager. You may see an error stating "The Update Manager could not locate the correct version of Mastercam X on your machine" while running the Update Manager. No matter what message is displayed, this patch MUST be installed to use the Update Manager. We are releasing X2 Patch 1 in preparation for the release of Mastercam X2 Update 1. X2 Update 1 will be made available in December after the release X2 MR1 Beta 1 and will be distributed using the Update Manager. In order to receive X2 Update 1, X2 Patch 1 must have been installed. X2 Update 1 will contain a few minor corrections that will be detailed at the time of the release. If you have any problems or suggestions, please email [email protected]. Thank you.
