  1. Hi Our Moldplus product is always improved/updated/developed based on what customers request. We also know that not all customers world-wide have the same needs nor manufacturing methods. So, if you have your own solutions that work for you and can satisfy the needs of the other clients while saving all time and money, all the better. We dont argue, we only look at providing solutions Regards Anbu
  2. Hi I believe you are attempting to accomplish this. The Yellow surfaces are the extensions you are interested in. We do additional extensions to build strength for the electrode and to ease the manufacturing of it. This is the electrode with part. You can accomplish these with Moldplus Electrode Maker. Regards Anbu
  3. Hi You can use Moldplus Electrode Maker to accomplish what you want - extension of all edges tangentially, with draft, etc. Email your file to [email protected] and I can do a quick extension for you. Regards Anbu
  4. Hi Has anyone taken a look at ProDrill for Mastercam 9.1? Automatic center Drill depth calculation, chamfer machining, etc. are just some of the features of ProDrill. You can review it on the Moldplus website and even have a trial of the software arranged with your reseller. Regards Anbu
  5. Hi Can you load the original IGS file to the FTP site for review? Also, can you confirm what is the CAD system of origin? thanks Anbu
  6. Hi Moldplus SA is currently working on a CATIA V5 import. It is probably a few weeks away. Regards Anbu
  7. Hi The surface extension tools in Moldplus will allow extensions, offsets, etc. on trimmed or untrimmed surfaces. Your first question, I would look in the MCAM9 folder or the C-drive (root folder C:). Otherwise do a File search with the current date as the search parameters. Depends whether Mastercam Design generated the log file or whether Windows OS generates the log file. Regards Anbu
  8. Hi If you are looking for a fast way to program the part in Mastercam, send us the part (email to [email protected]). We have an excellent utility that wll allow you to program it within a few minutes - ProDrill for Mastercam 9.1 For other issues, I am sure you will get responses from forum members. Regards Anbu
  9. Hi A few quick comments: Creating electrodes with negative offsets taken into consideration is not an easy task - especially on surface models! We will review this again in the future when we enter fully into the world of Solids. Currently there are other tools that are more important that we need to provide. Since you can apply negative machining stock using Mastercam, that is the best and proven method for now. We have additonal extension options for electrode extensions now. I will detail this more later. Creating extensions to extracted electrode geometry is important to build strong electrodes. Moldplus offers those tools and a lot more to get your electrode projects done. In the last installation of Moldplus, we have included a DLL (ELECTOUT.DLL) that will output the burn-hole locations, angles, comments, etc. to generate an NC program that contains this data. You can then load this file to your electrode burning machine (ones with a CNC controller) and not have to enter this data manually. You will need to ensure that you have a post processor customized for these machines. Thanks again for your comments on the products. We will continue to improve our solution. Regards Anbu
  10. Hi Could you let me know what exactly you like about the Electrode extraction from Cimatron and their tools? You can email me that information with images etc. if that helps to explain the details clearly. We develop Moldplus for Mastercam and are in the process of completing a new version with improved tools for electrode extraction, insertion, copying, transforming, etc. and new electrode extensions that are an industry first with the options there. If you are a current Moldplus Electrode customer and would like to start testing the new version and tools, please let me know by email. Thanks in advance! Anbu
  11. Hi You may want to take a look at the "Project Manager" add-on for Mastercam from Camaix. It is one of the most comprehensive database management systems for Mastercam projects. Project Manager for Mastercam Good luck. Anbu
  12. Hi Take a look at ProDrill for Mastercam 9.1 to create drill forms using Mastercam Solids. Drill forms are created with chamfer, drilltip angle control and other relevant information needed to drill these forms using Mastercam. You can also automatically mark tapped and reamed holes and ProDrill will apply the relevant toolpath operations to them. Sample image of drill form creation. Sample image of possible drill forms: For more information visit: Moldplus Website and click on the ProDrill link. 13. Hi You could also use the Moldplus trimming and untrimming tools for surfaces. Will allow you to trim trimmed-surfaces also without a problem. Simply create a curve representing the trimming boundary and then use the Zone Split option to keep both sides or the Zone Delete option to keep only the side you want. Regards Anbu
  14. Hi Moldplus allows for extraction of electrodes, creation of surface extensions for the electrodes, preparation for machining and generation of the electrode report for burn hole location and other pertinent details. A powerful tool to make electrodes. Moldplus does not apply negative stock offsets for spark gap allowance to the extracted electrode geometries. Creating offset surfaces is not an easy task and therefore we leave that upto the programmer to compensate for that during machining. Regards Anbu Moldplus SA
  15. Hi Please take a look at ProDrill. It automatically identifies all features for drilling for solid or surface models from 2 to 5 axis models. Reams, counter-bores, taps, etc that are all modeled will be identified automatically! For more information, contact your local Mastercam reseller or contact us at [email protected] Regards Anbu
  16. Hi Please take a look at ProDrill for Mastercam 9.1 You will like what it has to offer related to feature based drilling for surface or solid models ranging from 2 to 5 axis models. For more information, please contact your local reseller or email us at [email protected] Regards Anbu
  17. Hi Please take a look at ProDrill for Mastercam. Allows for feature based drilling on surface and solid models from 2 to 5 axis parts. Please email [email protected] or contact your local reseller for more information on the product. Regards Anbu
  18. Hi ProDrill for Mastercam supports drilling of solid or surface model forms through feature recognition of the drill forms for - 2, 3, 4 or 5 axis parts. We automatically identify the drill plane for the drill form when we analyze the part. We will be implementing the sub-probram support (enabling the sub-program switch in the Mastercam parameters page) for ProDrill very shortly. For drilling, you will be indexing to the new plane/axis and then performing a standard drilling operation. I honestly dont know if you need sub-program support for 5 axis drilling. But if you need it, you will have that support too. The other issues mentioned here from regarding the correct post processor, etc are important for you to start using your machine as soon as you get it. You will need to work with your reseller for this. Regards Anbu

  21. Hi again The explanation was fine. I am just looking for additional MC9 files and possibly image captures that explain the different stages (steps). The more the details in this manner, the easier for us to review the process. What we have now is the start and end process and textual explanation of how it was reached. By breaking them down, we can review what tools we currently have in Moldplus and how to enhance them to suit the needs. We will do our best to see if we can find a viable solution. Thank you for the additional efforts. As I mentioned, please email it to us at [email protected] Regards Anbu
  22. Hi again Please email the information to [email protected]. We will review it. We would like your files also. Thanks for the explanations. Anbu
  23. Hi Could you please provide a step by step definition of what you do, to exactly get to this result? From starting with the solid (or surface model) to ending up with the results you desire or have shown in the partfile partingline.mc9? Example MC9 files at each step, explaining what you do would help. This is not an easy task in the first place. Therefore, we need to know what exactly you do at every step to acheive the results you desire. Image captures would also help. We can research the possibilty once we have such details. Regards Anbu
  24. Hi 30 day trial license is possible. Please contact your local reseller to get this setup. Regards Anbu
  25. Hi There is a new tool for Mastercam that will significantly optimize drilling - ProDrill. Feature Recognition of drilling forms in solid or surface geometry and automatically apply pre-defined drilling operations to them. We are at the verge of releasing it. This will address your concerns about defining groups of operations for reaming, tapping, or any combination of drilling operations needed (user customizable). The specific issue about reaming can be added into the operations list - as defined in the table here for example. The drilling operations for a 14mm drill hole are defined here in the operations to be done for this form. The resultant toolpaths will be: You will not need to import operations for this everytime. The drilling tool will recognize the drilling form, read the data from the tables and apply the operations automatically. Available for Inch and Metric forms. Here is an image of the drilling forms that have tables pre-defined with operations in them. Please contact your reseller for more information on this product. Regards Anbu
