I have had this happen to me also. Look in your screen configure file usage page. Check to see what the temporary files data path is set to.
good luck
I did not have any operations, just geometry.

Mastercam V8.1.1 only supported the parasolid kernal up to v12. If your are trying to read in a solidworks file from SolidWorks 2001 plus, which has been out for nine months or so, you will need to download the patch from Mastercams website. This would fix the parasolid kernal interface error, if this is the error you're getting. The version number only applies to writing a parasolid file.
good luck

There is a patch on mastercams website to allow you to read in solidworks 2001 plus. The patch is called rdpsv13mcv8.zip or something like that anyway.
good luck
Mastercam Wire has the sorting ability your looking for. I a request needs to be sent in.
Usually zig zag is going to work best, it looks at the end point of your lead out and then goes to the next closest start point.
good luck.
For chaining solid edges set your loop to yes and your partial to yes. Select one edge along the contour you to machine, this will be your start position. Then hit the other button until you are shown the contour you are looking for and then hit done. Now if you want to do a partial chain pick the solid edge that defines the end of your chain and your done.
hope this helps, solids work very well once your used to working with them.
pocketing with islands is a great toolpath I use it all the time. Do not use the parralell spiral it tends to leave material, use the constant overlap spiral instead or another option. The chain that defines the pocket must be chained before the islands.
good luck
when you create a new view using the select menu and pick two lines the first line defines you x axis and the second defines the y axis and the intersection of the two will be your origin.
just thought I should add that
brown = world coordinate origin
green = cplane origin
light blue = tplane origin
if you hit alt F9 it will show their orientation in that order.
in your screen config start / exit tab uncheck the update cplane / tplane when changing gview checkbox and that should take care of your dynamic rotation.
hope this helps
When you run the sp1 executable it needs to be in your mcam9 root directory. If you saved it to your desktop or a temp folder and ran it from there it won't work.
hope this helps
The surface pocket toolpath is the answer. A 2D pocket is just that 2D. The situation can change many times over the length of a chain, by chaining a 2D contour mastercam doesn't know if the geometry is in an open area or next to a vertical wall you don't want to gouge into. Although the option would be convenient at times.
My two cents worth, darn it now I can't afford diapers!

Excellent Cadcam. I usually used E-drawings instead of 3D instant website because sometimes it is just easier to tell someone your sending them a file as opposed to explaining 3D instant website. In the newest version of E-drawings you can create a file based on a part and not just a drawing file. And you can also do the rotate an zoom like your file. Anyway, either way is a very cool and easy way to let people check out your parts out without having to give them geometry. With e-drawings and 3D instant website you don't have any security issues as opposed to sending a geometry file.
I didn't mean to make this into a SolidWorks forum but this is a very cool tool.
Later
If you have access to SolidWorks you can create an "e drawing". You can create a self executing file that requires no additional software installation. Works great, I do wish Mastercam would come up with something similar.
good luck
Are you posting out metric or inches?
If you use the tools_mm.tl9 there are metric taps.
If you are posting out in english units, depending on how your tap cycles are set up, need to output the tpi equivelant of the metric tap.
I.E. M8 x 1.25, 1.25/25.4 = .0492
woops I gave you the lead instead of the tpi:
25.4 / 1.25 = 20.32
hope this helps, if not good luck

In a word no, the critical depths was designed so that doing a rough pocket with a .250" step down wouldn't leave .125" on a flat surface or any critical surface at -.375", -.625"... The detect flats will create a depth cut at the flat surfaces and then proceed to look at the next depth cut or critical depth as defined.
Hope this helps
P.S.
If you want to leave different amounts of stock on two different sets of surfaces pick the first set as your drive surfaces and your second set as check surfaces. Then go into your gap settings and set it to follow surface and set your gap setting to 100.00" or something like that.
Where did you get the post you are currently using? Contact your Komo reseller, Komo has a post written by CNC Software. Whether or not is uses the G52 I am not sure.
good luck
I'm getting a strange feeling that not everyone read the license agreement on the initial startup after installing mastercam V9, V8... myself included. I do agree with Charles, with most software you don't have the option to relicense, regardless of "moneys".
Couldn't agree more!!!!!
There are many advantages to solids, another tool in the toolbox. FYI you can find the radius of a surface by using analyze dynamic. And I beleive there is something in analyze surface...
enjoy the weekend everyone

A couple of things I tell people who want to use the WCS is turn off the update cplane tplane when changing graphics view in the screen, config, and whenever you go to create a new WCS is to first turn them all off and then create your new WCS. I don't know if this helped but good luck.
