John,
I knew that was one reason. We also have multiple users on many computers. So I help set everyone up with there on config, kmp, and mtb even if they use the default settings, just to be safe.
I'm trying to get the program (on the ftp site) through IT so we can try setting all of it up on the network.
I can recieve emails. It's just that our cyber security is very tight and anything flagged takes extra steps to get. emails are easier to retrieve if flagged than getting access to sites that are blocked (for good reason). That's why we can't access any ftp sites. It's even frustrating for our engineers who usually get whatever they want.
Hey guys, I just have to say that this thread is an excellent example of why I love using mastercam. The communication and cooperation between CNC, end users, resellers, etc. is top shelf.
I am currently in a room full of UG and ProE users right now , luckily it's temporary (just kidding) . They do not have near the support or fast responses as we do.
Thanks guys
you will need to copy any custom M/C defs and posts.
Correct me if I'm wrong (John did yesterday ), but aren't you supposed to leave the default config alone? Custom config, mtb, kmp, files should be saved seperately. then put the name of your config in the target line of your short cut.
yes u can.
Use the circle mill toolpath>window in the points > select a tool smaller the the dia of the circle > set all plane depths to 0 > comp off > input circle dia> entry/exit arc sweep 0 > uncheck start at center.
Next backplot with rapid turned off > click on the green disk to save the geometry.

Oops...
I've been using the HST's so much I haven't looked in the surf rough menu for quite some time. John, do u know if they are looking at incorperating it into the HST interface?
I know there are multiple ways of getting it done now but...
Do you think Mastercam should have a plunge milling toolpath of some type?
"Things that make you go ..."
Eric,
The math has to add up. If you tell MC the number of offsets, you have to let it figure the stepover and scallop. You told it you are cutting with a 1/8 ball following a 1/4. It mathematically has to fit the 1/8 ball pass across the 1/4.
It depends on how the machine def is set-up. If it is set up the old way (new vertical), then top plane is B0. If it is set-up the new way (horizontal), then front plane is B0. It really comes down to your preference and setting up the machine def to spit out the proper rotation.
shazam,
send me your file and I'll take a look at it today.
BTW, send it UNzipped, The firewall here will block it otherwise and take longer to get it released from IT.
Go to your toopathes perameters page and click on the "Misc. Values" button. If it is available, you should see it here.
BTW, make sure your machine has this option first.
Can DOC be varied when roughing on lathe?
Trying to increase insert life when cutting superalloys. I've edited the NC for some files and it worked nicely, would be great if it would post out nicely.
Thanks
HP is now sell laptops with duel HDD's on a raid set-up. Has any tried these or used one? I am looking to buy my first laptop and am seriously considering the HP's now.
