  1. quote: $35-ish plus OT. Isn't that kinda low for a "Top Dog" in Cali?
  2. "easy button" Don't bother, I got mine from Staples and it didn't work as Advertised.
  3. Do you need to bring the feature tree into MC? If not go into Config/Converters and shut off Import Solids History. I run SW and MC on Dual monitors all the time and never have a problem with MC shutting down SW. Though, I rarely have a need to import the history. If I want to Suppress/Add something I usually just do it in SW and then import as SLDPRT. I don't like using SWDirect, since I have had it lose features in the past.
  4. quote: what about axis substitution y axis maybe I was thinking the same thing. Though it may have a problem in the corners?
  5. quote: I am trying to come up with a work holding method maybe a custom vacuum plate to hold a few pieces at a time?
  6. nvidia Quadro FX 3450/4000SDI Runs fine
  7. Just checked Monster for CNC in MA. Of the 8 listings, 3 agencies, 4 general ads (non Machine related) 1 job shop Last year Monster usaually had 2-3 pages of ads for CNC. Not Good!
  8. quote: I would be all for creating a Solidworks sub-forum here I think that is a great idea.
  9. I would recommend talking to your reseller. They have a lot of different levels of instruction available.
  10. And now they are predicting 8-14" of snow on Friday.
  11. You can also find some solid features (holes, fillets) in Mastercam without the history tree. That way you can suppress them if you need to.
  12. I did the same thing and sent it on the 18th. Haven't heard any replies.
  13. I heard it will be soon.
  14. I think there is a problem opening 2009SW files in X3.
  15. I think training and seat time are the only way to get to the level some of the people here are at. Check out S4A, some of those guys are pretty good teachers.
  16. quote: If you or anyone was there you know we were saying at Eastec I was to busy looking for my free T shirt.
  17. It's the ones that don't give any links, or "real" information- just an email address, that you have to watch out for.
  18. If you are just checking dimensions, just use the Smart Dimension Icon. Just don't save the file.

    Haas Vm3

Have a VF4 here. Works great for R+D stuff. Like Doug said " You get what you pay for" We only had 100K to spend and needed a pretty big work envelope, with 4th axis, so the HAAS fit well for us. Have had very minimal problems, and the service center is only 1hr away.
  20. different NC file names?
  21. I run Solidworks on one, and Mcam on the other.
  22. quote: X, X2, X3-coming "soon" Got some inside info ??????
  23. I have had too many problems with MCdirect. MCdirect tends to lose features, and if the solid has any relation it can not find it will crash. I just bring my solids in as sldprt.
