Dave, Mastercam is missing that functionality witch other software have and you wanted. You can rotate a view around that view Z axis but will always create a new view even that view it's not asociated with 2 lines.
Maybe in the future they will implement such a feature..I mean when you do "Rotate Plane" command, they can put a option to ovewrite current plane and if that plane is asociated with 2 lines , to breack association (with a warning will be nice..and maybe also to do a copy). That way you don’t need to do what g-code said before …to create a new plane and replace the op witch use that plane with the new one…
You can do also like that (in program):
(TAP 2 X 1/2-13 UNC)
G59G90G00X20.29Y-2.S100M03T19
G43H20Z3.M08
Z1.
G98G84X20.29Y-2.Z-0.75R0.1F[[1./13.]*#4119]
X22.22Y-1.
G80
....then you can control only the from the RPM value. And also you can change post to have the values between brackets driven from tool and units Ex:[1/13]
OR SIMPLY DRAW THE PART LIKE IS SECTIONED WITH THE ROTATION AXIS AS CONSTRUCTION LINE. SELECT THE SKETCH AND HIT THE REVOLVE BUTTON AND OPEN THE SELECTED CONTOURS TAB AND SELECT HALF OF YOUR SKETCH. IT'S ANOTHER WAY BUT I PREFER ALSO THE WAY JOHN WAS TALK ABOUT.
ON ADVANCED 5X USE THE FUNCTION "START POINT" AND SET THE ROTATE BY DEGREE AMOUNT. CHOSE CUTING METOD "ONE WAY" AND ALSO CHECK THE "DIRECTION FOR ONE WAY MACHINING". ON "TOOL AXIS CONTROL" TAB YOU CAN ENEBLE THE LIMITS BUTTON AND THEN INSIDE YOU CAN LIMIT YOUR C AXIS BY DESIRED AMOUNT OF DEGREE
OR DO LIKE THIS:
.
.
.
#500=4.(NUMBER OF PARTS TO BE MACHINED)
#505=350.(Z CLEREANCE)

PUT ON G54 THE FIRST PART ZERO, ON G55 THE SECOND ONE AND SO ON...
You can use also Circle Mill toolpath where you have the option "Start angle" so you do not need to rotate the circle or change the start point from Chain Manager.
Var 1:
1. Open "mcamxm.config" with a text editor(make a backup if you want).
2.In [colorS] section delete the custom colors section (from line 5516 to 5755). It look like this:
5516. Custom color 16? 0
5517. Custom color 17? 7864320
.
.
.
.
5754. Custom color 254? 34695
5755. Custom color 255? 8882055
3.Save file and open Mastercam again.
Var 2.
Delete mcamxm.config and open again Mastercam
All your config modification will be reseted.
In the end if you cannot get a native Solidworks file and you want to modify some radius and chamfers use Delete Face (surfaces) to delete the chamfers or rad and then you can make your own ones.
And anothet thing "gcode".There is no software on market with the CAM capabilities of Mastercam. But something must be done in CAD direction. The software witch I mention is just an example.
My advice man is to work with a profesional Cad system. No ofence to enyone but Mastercam is 10 years behind the market in this aspect(CAD). From my opinion Mastercam is still great because the CAM capabilities. But CAD..?!?!?! su..s. Is like in early '90. X is a improvement in grafical interface(relative to 9 who look like ACAD13) but the core engine have litle improvements. Everybody must realise that the CADCAM market is moving very quikly and software with the same capabilities(in CAM+CAD) even better then Mastercam are growing (see the bundle Solidworks+Solidcam). I think the "Mastercam" must reconsider the ideea of beeing a complete CAD+CAM system and try to integrate under a profesional CAD system (Solidworks, Solidedge, Inventor, CATIA etc).Look at Solidcam ..who know this company 3-4 years ago? Now is the most rapidly-growing CAM vendor. Why? Stabile (not like X) CAD fundation good CAM capabilities and easy to use. Except CAM capabilities what Mastercam have? I tell you zero bites file when you try to save your work. With this capabilities I understand why other software have such growing. No offence to enyone but I just tell my opinion.
