  1. Rickster, Create/curve/slice as Colin suggested works great but you need to establish a plane through your model then select surfaces or solid faces.
  2. Solidworks is on the wish list especially after taking a class on the software, but a little hard to justify for a small company.
  3. CNC Software! is there any plans to add the ability to x-form solid features. Anybody else want this feature? I had to revolve cut 427 curved pockets, well I only did a little over half of them then mirrored over, but now they need a little tweaking It's gonna be a long day Monday.
  4. Have you tried shutting down machine and moving axis by hand then restarting machine?
  5. Eric, When we got the machine installed the setup guy told me I wanted TCP so he set up all the parameters and so far I like it. A couple things that come to mind. -your post must post out zero tool length & zero pivot distance. -I touch the tools off table using a program (M100) to set tool lenght of active tool. -pivot distance is stored as a general machine parameter P97 Hope this helps explain a little, there is more but would need some time to look over manual. -
  6. Bruce, G48 S1; TCP on G48 S0; TCP off Punch it in and jog the rotary axis for a quick look on how it works. Your post will need some changes for TCP to work properly.
  7. Yes! Further development of solid modeling. My wish is to have a edrawings option, this would a great tool to communicate with non-cad customers and potential customers.
  8. Brad Try> screen/shade settings/outline shaded edges
  9. After cutting tooling board, I never want to see a chunk of MDF on the machine again. I have used Ren and General Plastics brand but prefer GP, no dust and cuts great with HSS. Well worth the price. Wax sounds interesting but suspect it cost more than tooling board
  10. Or you can add toggle center points off/on buttom to toolbar. Settings/Customize/Screen.
  11. Ranger Dan, Try selecting section>ok instead of modal and you will be redirected back to toolpath to select the end of your modified feedrate.
  12. Pete, you got mail, SLDPRT form SC I tried to open again and a window popped up asking "select desired solidworks config: default or post process" it opened great when post process was checked. I guess I didnt see option before.
  13. Pete, First I opened SLDPRT file in edrawings just for a quick look, then later opened up in MC for a closer look and model looked like it was not finished, like it got stuck in the Solidworks history tree and created model at that point. Simply checked surfaces and it was all there. So glad I previewed before in edrawings, otherwise I would have started quoting a incomplete model.
  14. JMC, Just yesterday I recieved a Solidworks file, when I imported the model it was missing many features. Had to import as surfaces to fix it. Dont know what version it was but never had a problem before.
  15. b_daddy, I turn off shading on screen before hitting print. Printing 11x17 is a crap shoot in X and never prints at scale, just comes out blank. V9 worked flawless, sure hope X2 works better. Steve
  16. Matt, I was handed a new DMS 5'x10'x36" just recently and so far the machine has performed well. Very solid construction, very responsive support A+. Also beleive price was right on. General plastics also makes a great tooling board comparable to RenShape and cuts excellent with HSS cutters with no dust.
  17. Stephen, I would guess panel is abs and would bond additional pieces to bridge crack, smooth out with some bodyfiller then paint it. The poly family of plastics are nearly impossible to bond any rarely crack but can simply be melted together with a sodering iron or a hot air plastic welder.
  18. Hello, MasterCam fails to import .eps file that I need a scale "logo" from, then I will merge into current project. Any suggestions? or perhaps I could post file if anyone wants to convert it to a mcx, dxf or ? thanks in advance.
  19. elraiis, I never use create/curves/all, its just a mess. Bellyup is right on, you gotta clean up that iges then start adding your geometry. Bug the engineers to write you a .step, .iges, parasolid and send in a zipped folder. This way you can find the best import for that given model on that given day.
  20. Tommyd, the router is a DMS 5x10x36" xxxxor 8055 control from your backyard in Texas heehee. Router is used mostly for trimming vacuum-formed plastic parts. My post dosent output the A100, not sure if its supposed to yet. Thanks for the warning if set below .001, so much to learn, so little time left before the heat from above is turned up on me.
  21. New cnc programmer, new 5-Axis router, recipe for disaster Im having problems with cornering, router seems to start corner before actually getting there. Currently my post outputs G51 at .002 for xxxxor control. Should it be lower like .0005? Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.
