Mc should be on the left and everything else on the right That's how I run my splits. My Left monitor is through the digital channel and the right is analog. I try to use my digital screen for 3D programs - MC, ProEngineer, PEPS, etc. - and my right screen for various - Outlook, excel, MC Editor, etc.
I tried using the OP Manager on the right screen but I just don't like it for some reason.

How much has Mastercam X4 5-axis improved over Mastercam X? Is it worth upgrading? 100% yes it's worth it. If you are going to buy a custom post for your machine then you will definetly need to be current on X4.

I currently use the Haas 5X post

Haas trunion post that is installed with X4
That's the post I was talking about - GENERIC HAAS VF-TR_SERIES 5X MILL.PST/.MMD/.control... sorry for not being clear. It does work very well. I've changed a few things but nothing too extreme.

Rocket,
If you're dead set on using the sim then you may have to purchase the In-House post. I currently use the Haas 5X post (with no sim) and it works great. If you're having rotational issues - trunnion rotating the A axis away from you - you can arrange the machine def to reposition to A- instead of A+. Do you know how to do this?
westerfieldc,
Is the M46 hard coded in the post? What I mean is on the prefreturn line does it have a "M46" coded in it? The reason I ask is the post may not have a parameter to turn it off.
Awesome job Shawn!
I see you got the surfaces smoothed out on the 5X paths... what was your methodology behind fixing it? I personally mentioned using the point/angle generators and was curious if that helped you? Care to share any input on your conquest?
MPMASTER will get you what you want. A little editing on the machine def/post but it would be a great setup. I use the MPMASTER modified for an older Mazak horizontal mill for one of my contract customers and it works great.

They were at the school until 10:00pm last night!
They interviewed me for over an hour, got shots of a lecture, shots of the students and shots of us running the machines. Luckily enough we were running an impeller on the 5 axis mill so we had something cool to show.
I'll let everyone know when it airs
Welcome to the Forum!
Head porting is not for the tame of heart so be careful! If you're wanting to machine all 4 ports in 1 setup you'll probably need to set the part up with the Rocker Arm Box (I'm assuming that what that is) down. This will allow you to rotate the B axis on your trunnion to reach all 4 postions. You may run into rotational challenges when you start machining the exhaust exit ports being the trunnion will already be rotated at A-90. degrees.
