  1. I used to program a DMS and Motion Master twin tables for three years with a Fa*or controller 8055. Use a curve 5X toolpath with vector lines to control the head as cuts around the the part and to keep the head perpendicularl to the work piece. What I used to do was get the curve and offset contour and join the the curves then delete the curve you just offset to get the vector lines you need but make sure you are in the right plane. From looking at it ( bright highlighted line) you should only need two vector lines to control the head. Make sure you are going cutter comp left. I'm pretty sure that your problem with it cutting on the wrong side. Mastercam has great post for the Motion Masters/ DMS if you need one. It was plug and go out of the box. If you need any help just email me and I will be happy to help you out.
  2. Try looking at a 5 axis DMS they make a great machine that has a Fa gor controller. I programmed and ran FA on one for two years and it never let me down.
  3. Go to the file (top left) on the drop down pick update folder and look half way down and you will see update version 8, click that then select the folder from then to were.
  4. I have a DMS, I know that it's a different machine but if you have a ***or controller it's M65 on and M66 off that's what works on mine.
  5. Question for the ***or guys with a CNC routers duel tables. Does anyone know the code to change the "Y" axis to a "V" axis in the program when it's called out in "Y" through out the program? Many Thanks!!
  6. I use ***or also and i never get a D# unless I put one in the dia offset it's the way my post is set-up. All I program is 5x toolpaths with a little 2d and 3d mixed in for kicks. But I have to ask you a quick question. Does your post, post out the length in the program or do you do use manual entry to get the length to post? I had a post a while ago that would post out the lengths in the front of the program.
  7. When I worked for a place awhile ago, where I programmed for a EB welder using Mastercam. It took regular G and M codes so all I had to do some editing like the power settings, beam on/off and feed call outs. It worked out pretty good. I don't know if this what you are talking about in this thread or not.
  8. I'm running X4 and I'm wondering if I can change the create coon surface chook icon to something else? I have a four chook icons in the toolbars and sometimes I lose track which is which. If you can how do I do it? Many thanks!!

  10. Good morning, Quick question for you guys out there. How do I change the color of the g view, wcs view, c view and the levels' name on the bottom of the screen? I looked in the colors under config but I could not find it. Any ideas were to look?
  11. Takashi, I'm having the same problem when shutting down MC in vista. MC crashes right when the program ends, but it does not do it in XP.
  12. E Drawing, you save it as a .exe file and email it to the customer and he opens it to view it check it out. Still thinks it's free from solidworks.
  13. Just throwing out there but if you have a copy of a V8 or even V7 of Mastercam there was 850 Acramatic post in there that worked pretty much out of the box and it works on a 950 with min post changes. That's what i started with long time a go when i needed one for a 950.
  14. You can use the section chook and break the program up usable chunks of NCIs and post them out as needed. The chook is call SectionNCI, had to use it years ago in V6 and V7.
  15. First, you will have to open a fresh MC 4 in design, making sure you do not have a machine type active. Go to settings/control def/ then look in the control topics (on the left)you will see operations defaults click that metric or inch (what ever you are using)/go to 3d surface high speed and hit the plus to get the parameters and open the parameters. Go down to arc filter/ tolerance and set the tol. and surface to were you want. Hit the green check twice, but you have to make sure you save it using the save default settings first then exit out of there.
  16. Hole axis is sweet but I would not know what to do without the notepad the Verisurf give out too. I write all my part's notes on it and it's saved in the part file.
  17. Thanks, but I don't remember having to do that in earlier editions (X2) that's what got me.
  18. A quick question, why when I merge a file the geometry that comes in will turn red and how do I clear the color?
  19. Racerx is right but it actually that happen in 2008 were the serial port will no longer work you will have to use a usb.
  20. There is a place in the properties/tool setting lower left that you toggle on and put the feed rate but never did needed to do it. hope it works for you. There is also the toolpath editor thin there also you can change the feed rates as needed for you to post.

  22. I don't believe you guys from CA are not even say anything about the .12 cents raise on fuel, doubled the registration on your vehicle and the rise of income tax too.
