I use catia with a fasttrim platform for programming the laser we have here. It a pain sometimes to use because i'm used to using MC, but I get by. It took me about 3 to 4 months to used to using it efficiently, but i will not trade it in for MC. The only thing i like about it, is the norms. When 5x programming the norms tells me what direction the head will to the part it is cutting. The company that sold us Catia is Cenit of NA. Hope this helps.
It work great for Mastercam, Solidworks and Catia. I have one and you can not go wrong with it. It will take some time to get use to it but once you that happens you going to think how in the world did not get one earlier. The drivers are @ 3d connexion make sure you down load the usb if you have a usb one. Also make sure you program the buttons to what you want to use them for it help on key strokes.
I do not have my catia hooked up right now but you can push the normal button on views that will flip the part over for you. I does it to me when I'm programming our laser here.
Jay,
It looks like the Cedar Fire that hit here in San Diego. So far my family is okay but some people are less forturnate. I e-mailed Julie @ San Diego Cadcam she told me that she got evacuated last night.
I went to ppcadcam and down loaded the one the says it works for mr2 the problem is the it installs in mr1 not mr2. My question is how do i install it to mr2?
Good Morning Everyone,
I have a quick question for everyone, I loaded mr2 and started to get up to speed on it but I'm tring to install verisurf hole axis c-hook and it gives me a a window saying (The apprapriate M/C .net support dll cound not be found). I read that it would work. I down load a copy of it and it loads in mr1 file tree not mr2, so I copied the folder and drop it in the c-hook folder but I still can not get it to work. Any ideas?
Thanks
Look on the underside of the spaceball, that is were my old one had it listed to what you have. Also there are two different drivers and there are two different drives to what coast you are on (for some reason)for the usb one and the ps2 one. If you are going to get a new one i would get a space pilot it works great in catia, solid works and mcam. I just up graded to it and i was using a spaceball 5k.
We just bought Predator Virtual CNC with 5 axis with stl compare, it is pretty easy to set up and use it. The cool part was all under $6,000 grand. I just wish it was compatible with my spaceball but for 6000 who cares.
Hard mill,
The first thread, yes that is were I,m trying to get to machine. I never tried surf. fin contour but i will try it, the size cutter i'm using is a 1.5 ingersoll form master button cutter. The last time i had some thing like this i had to lie to mc and say it is a slot cutter with a full corner radius and just add the size of the cutter in but this time it just will not work
now
Thanks
rob
Hello,
I'm having a real problem with trying to get a toolpath under a ledge. I tried everything i could think of from waterline toolpath to parallel toolpath using a t-cutter with a full radius and i can not get it to work right. Any ideas? I put the my file on the ftp site in the folder robertt if you do not mind checking it out.
Thanks
rob
I'm using X2 mr1
Haas will go to the shortest axis first the the the second axis next and so on. It does not matter what axis it is X,Y,Z,A,orB. I have a VR-11 and trust me on this it is a pain in the butt. When I'm programming for this machine I will turn off the rapids and just use the max feed rate. But on the setting I never heard of it.
Bogusmill,
Look under your setting and open up the control difinition manager/ on the left side there is a control topic and click the "tool". look at the tool offset registers make sure they are at zero.
I had the same problem a while ago and that is where I found the problem at.
Check out the settings-config-screen and look at the middle button/wheel use, also make sure you have the use free mode in dynamic spin check off on the right
