  1. Retracting back from the touch, like the setter is stuck down?
  2. Cant you perform a repeatability test on your setter to determine if it is at fault?
  3. No worm to wear out, and no backlash. Still has a brake.
  4. I heard the password is : Password or 1234 But seriously, how does the stored rotary position come into play on this machine?
  5. What is this machine model that needs to know where the un-trammed rotary is? Some kind of Next gen Maho/Mori? Tool changer interference?
  6. I think all versions of the Space Pilot use the same download for drivers from their website, it includes the puzzle demo bit.
  7. I find this more true everyday. The internets, She aint what she used to be.
  8. Will there be a release of these for X9?
  9. Instead of G76? Habit / preference I feel In G92 everything is black and white for me. G76 P010060 Q0 R0. G76 X.4459 Z.775 P270 Q105 R0. F.05 This^^^ is too cyptic for my tastes
  10. Thanks for the reply. Now I know its not just me! Im no mathmatician. but here is how I have always done it (sin1.78815)x = r/l x being total length I am using mpmaster. btw
  11. I noticed this on another part a few days ago. But I couldnt be sure if it was me or not. So, today while programming a different part i did a test. I programmed the same tapered pipe thread first on the main spindle. Then after transfering the stock I copied that operation to the subspindle ops, changed only the tool, axis combos,z coords, start and end of thread signs. When I then post these two identical thread ops the r/l taper value is wrong on the subspindle. Main G0 X.7314 Z.2 G99 G92 X.5172 Z-.45 R-.0203 E.05263 sub G0 X.7314 Z-.2 G99 G92 X.5172 Z.45 R-.0078 E.05263 Has anyone seen this before
  12. Yes 5 degree. the bore is .800 deep so I dont think I can face it first. My Iscar rep thinks my chip breaker could be the problem. I think that is very plausible.
  13. Toolpath= lathe-roughing I have thought about round inserts. But that is as far as that went.
  14. Is there a technique or tool geometry selection to avoid trapping chips between the edge of the insert and a 90 degree shoulder? I have had this problem on and off on both od and id work. So I havent been able to put my finger on the cause. I am currently having difficulty in roughing out a bore in 321ss with a ccmt insert.
  15. The thing is. We looked into it. For the exact reasons you mention. But Our Mastercam reseller was luke-warm on Verisurf,at best. I dont know if it was our application or his comfort level or something else.
  16. +1 on a Bright Apex though. I cant begin to tell you how happy we are with it. Plus they let us upgrade the manual seat we bought in 06 to dcc for the difference. So in your situation that maybe something to think about.

  18. 5003 bit 6 LVK was 1 tool length offset value not cleared but held by reset. I changed it to 0-cleared by reset. There should be no easy way to call a tool offset in program and then a g49 w/o a reset in between.
  19. same wording but it is 5008 bit 6 (so is yours:) excellent i knew i could get the answer here but it does not say next block with motion?
  20. fanuc 18i parameter manual b-63530en/03 " 5009 bit 0 = GSG---in the mode of tool compensation direct input B, the offset write input signal is input 0-from machine side 1-from pmc side"
  21. Exactlyit is just the existing program mod for us, We have lots of existing proven programs
  22. So i guess we will have to modify our posts to remove g49 before tool changes? Is there not a parameter? All our existing programs have g49 called in the beginning like g40 g20 g90
  23. We are also having a problem since switching to positive tool offsets. G49 causes Z to move in the negative direction to cancel the offset. Not if the offset was canceled first with G91 G28 Z0. On a Fanuc 18i
