  1. woops late on this and yeah given the straight walls you're looking at separate toolpaths
  2. Give me 10-20 minutes, hybrid is my friend
  3. YES - but this only seemed to happen on X6 for me, and I haven't had it happen on X7 at all. Worse was that I couldn't recreate it on purpose. it just seemed if I had one open for some time, then it would do it
  4. The posts are being read and I've forwarded them on - it's in our best interest to have feedback and listen to people using the software every day. Reality being that if something works for someone they usually don't jump to post on a forum about it (yes there are exceptions), so most forums just have problems on them, but given you guys are longtime users I think it carries more weight than someone using something for the first time and just not 'getting it'. Daniel, your critiquing is harsh but generally respectful - although this forum isn't intended for office gossip, I wouldn't expect the banhammer unless you're, you know
  5. The driver version is Solidworks Certified 2010 191.87, these links no-longer work as Nividia has changed their driver system, so if you are looking for it, just goto Partner Certified, 2010, and then the appropriate windows version (Windows 7 64-bit is 191.87)

  7. are you positive that your account has read/write privledges to all mastercam related files/folders?

  10. You can define a flat/spherical endmill and then use custom geometry which does seem to verify, but the toolpath will still calculate with the flat/sphere as the tool-tip
  11. I want to hear more about this Vericut thingy, seems handy
  12. Definitely sounds like Access-Rights issue, or Anti-Virus blocking access - had happened to us, and on a couple installs I've done. Sometimes IT departments will change access settings on specific folders, make sure you have read/write privleges to shared McamX6, my mcamx7, and mcamx7 under program files. And make sure in your config there aren't files on the network somewhere that you don' have read/write privs. to
  13. I'm working on a video that does pretty much every single "utility" multiaxis path , cutting out a human body
  14. change the keep tool down "gap settings". I like to use value amounts , or you can save the normal to surface toolpath backplot, and then use those lines to drive the toolpath - it'll cut perfect
  15. There's a constant cusp under multiaxis > Surface > Triangular Mesh. This however will waterfall . If you're doint a hemisphere it works great ( and on STL files) but if you're doing a globe forget about it Best way I've found in that case is do a morph between two curves, or parallel to multiple curves under wireframe, and then make wireframe curves, one at the top of your part (at least smaller than your tool radius) and one at the bottom of the part.
  16. Just to reiterate, these are all related to Robotmaster, so Aaron no worries you weren't part of the solution
  17. Just wanted to check on something that I want to make sure isn't in the new verify and I'm not aware of it.. is there any way to have Mastercam project the tool out longer than it actually is? ie: if I'm plasma, waterjet, lasercutting etc. I want to cut slightly above the surface of the part, but if I'm doing verify, I want to see what it would actually be cutting. Up until this part I've always reduced the depth on my toolpath, verified, and then set the depth back up (or moved my stock if I'm just cutting straight up and down) If this isn't possible - this would be a great addition for non-contact processing in verify
  18. I used to have a really sick setup but then I find it gets confusing when training people - and if I revert to default I'm not as familiar with the layout because I'm used to the 'new' one I do like to have my T/F/R planes on ALT+Q, ALT+W, and ALT+E and I always set translucency to ALT+~
  19. This is something that a lot of people ask about. Unfortunately it's not an inherent function in Mastercam, but there are several options which you might already have available. Verisurf: http://www.verisurf.com/applications.php?item=automated_inspection#reverse_engineering> If you have inventor: http://grabcad.com/q...todesk-inventor If you have solidworks, couple different methods: http://grabcad.com/q...o-a-solid-model http://help.solidwor...3d_overview.htm Other software with native functionality: Rapidform XOR Geomagics Rhino (mesh to surface)
  20. Jing Or at least I would if support would slow down for the day and I could get these post-changes done
  21. X7 - I'm going to make a video of this when I'm done because I'm 'excited' about how well and straightforward it works
  22. I've been verifying programs from 100+mb STL files and the verify isn't crashing at all - I'm not trying to downplay your issue but I think there's some other problem at work... is something else using some resources? accessing network stuff? I've noticed Mastercam gets really fragile when there's some 3D scanning software running at the same time...
  23. Just roughed out a free-form human body in about 20 minutes using the stock model to drive the rest-roughs. I think I spend too much time with robots because I wish I had known earlier how well that works. Now if rest-rough could detect how far in Z it needs to cut (??) I would be REALLY happy next up, multiaxis rest...
  24. I haven't had crashed but I've had it just not create the tool once I hit finish? really frustrating because sometimes the values were painstakingly measured from an actual tool, only to have it not save them. That said, once it works it's great. just set up a new system and for someone using a CAM program for the first time it was really easy to get through
  25. every time you do something automatically like that, someone will it to NOT do that. Although if there was a field that was populated with OP-1, OP-2 etc. you could just turn on the option otherwise you can do that in the post
