[You know I think its funny you guys all go Hmm..]
It's not funny when you know that his dealer-reseller hasn't set his box up. And having it
not run tells you nobody was probably ever there.
You don't remember when your box had MC installed?
I do and Craig(dealer-reseller) also gave us training on the software.
Jim
So if I read this thread right.
It would be a bad idea to buy a seat
of MC V6 from a lady who has closed
her little shop? Sounds like I would
be better off buying V9 Entry.
Jim
It makes you wonder how they can
even program parts. I'm sure it's
just a "set-up" problem. Just reload
that file in your hex editor and recompile
right? Then it'll run goooooood !!!!
It's a sign of the times.
I'm surprised they hung on this long.
Considering NC's have been around as long
they have and all the cheap clones available
it was just a matter of time. I still would
take one for my garage anyday.
Jim
Dave,
I'll send Craig an e-mail,Thanx!
Roger,
It was built 11-2000 and has 640 Fusion
Control. This is my first job on the machine.
And I find that all the jobs have to be edited
before they run.
Thanx alot Guys,
Jim
Hello all,
Looking for a post-processor for this machine.
My reseller CM3D doesn't have anything for it
so I thought might as well see if any of you
had anything you could share.
Thanx in advance,
Jim
Remembered another from way back,
New operators know everything right?
Next time you get a hotshot operator coming in
the door tell 'em they need a Phd. They'll say
what? And you say yeah a Phd.
Push Here Dummy !!!
Jim
Hello all,
I found 1 of the guys here couldn't get on the FTP Site and started digging around.
As a result of that research we found if you open
IE,click on Tools tab, select Internet Options,
then select Advanced tab. Once on this page look
for "Enable folder view for FTP sites" and place a check mark here. He was able to go right on the FTP.

John,
Let me begin by saying AWESOME!!!
I just finished reading all the threads on this topic and was impressed by James's comment on your background of 1 yr ago just getting a machine and starting programming as well. I've been in machining for 21 yrs and have never heard of anyone coming up in the trade so fast except for Team Ferret. Anyway enough rambling from me.
Once again I just want to repeat James comment
(Don't be so hard on yourself.) I know people who have been in the trade 30 yrs and don't know half of what you have already Mastercammed!!!
Jim
Hi
You asked about pulling toolpaths from your drawings, not sure what you mean. Solids is used to extrude solid objects from your geometry.
Whether it's 2-D or 3-D doesn't matter, what you are wanting from solids I'm not sure of. Sounds like your expecting Mastercam to give you toolpath from the solid object you created, but you still have to drive the tools yourself just like before. You might want to elaborate a bit about what you want to do with Solids.

Yes we do it that way.
We use Parlec Presetter and Hoffman Balancer Machine to balance after setting up Tools.
We buy balanced holders only (Heatshrink,Collet,Millchucks) to eliminate the holder from the balance equation. This is all for Horizontal Cells, thus we change tools while the machines are running. We also load parts while the machine is running. Once you have your cell up and running you can theoretically achieve 90-100% Spindle Efficiency.(70-75% Realistically)
This is all for High-Production Machining not your 5-40 pc jobs, but you could use these tools
to help on any work. The cost is not small, but once you commit to the extra holders and equipment you'll see the difference as the method pays for itself in increased spindle time.

Chips hittin the floor, give me more!
Iscar Tools are awesome !!!
We use 2" 2 flt with 1" RDC x .2" ADC
on 6061-T6. I have run this cutter from
600 IPM up to 1200 IPM on a 50HP Mazak FH-8800.
And we get 300 minutes per edge.
That's 120-225 CIM (Metal Removal Rate)
The 5" up to 600 IPM also.
Fun,Fun,Fun sounds like bullets hitting the sheetmetal.
Jim

Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!
I'm not an expert programmer or a perfect human
being, but I can tell alot about you by your
immature childish responses. As such, I doubt your
programming problems will ever be solved in this
Forum. Your problem lies between the chair and the keyboard. Why don't you GROW UP first and then maybe you can learn how to program !!!
