Hi,
Do a search for Tool Holders you should find a couple threads about this problem. You can also draw your own or copy the original and scale it and save that to use.

Hi all,
Another thing is your hand wrenches, they can't touch the parts either. The chrome plating can contaminate the material just like the coolant.
And don't use black magic markers as this will bleed into the material as well. We machine the commercially pure stuff with regular coolant as there are no requirements by our customer for the contamination issue but every customer is different so be sure to check with them. And yes Jack you are right they got that stuff locked down so tight you would think it was Fort Knox.
Hi Aaron,
Have to ask a question before I give an answer.
What type of Titanium ?
6AL-4V,6AL-6V,or Commercially Pure Grade 2.
Depending on material type you can really push the tools, but like Jack said generally HSS is the way to go until you get down under .250 dia.
After that I only run carbide due to excessive flank wear which costs you in dull tools.
TICN coated baby endmills perform alot longer.
Drilling is ok down to .0469 with HSS in my jobs.

Hi,
You're saying no more than 8 letters show ?
Or they don't show up at all ?
Sounds like your Windows had a problem with the reinstall. In Explorer do the files show up ? If not, I would try checking your file options in Tools,Folder Options,View Files. Maybe it needs restarted or reinstalled again sorry can't help more.
Hi,
Another thing you might check,go to Tools,Internet Options,Connections,Lan Settings and check for "Automatically Detect settings" having a check in the box. On my Win98SE connection thru Earthlink I had to uncheck this.

Hi,
Have to ask is this the MC side of allocations or Windows ?
MC Config.
In your configuration start like this.
32000
32000
1000
256000
256000
In Windows set paging file to 2 or 3 Gigs.
You gotta save some for Windows.

Hi,
You should get setup sheets and tool lists as well as the source file. Your the customer so you should be pleased right ? Another thing for future jobs might be to talk about whats expected that way nobody is upset or mad.

Actually if you mill the inside of the duck out you could then mount your modified 12 gauge inside and your duck call on the outside. Then with your trick remote you could sit inside your truck with your "coffee" and wait nice and comfy.
Hi Jay,
Just came in the office it's 2:30 and pounding rain now. Just so I can drive home in it.
And ur right this is our life.
If it don't get better soon economically I might be calling you for a job down there. That's where I started machining down in Torrance at a shop called L-B Molds back in 81.
Yeah I love this Forum, helped me get up to speed really quick.
And yeah I check it when I'm home too.
But if she gives me that look, I know to get off the puter !
Hi Jay,
I'm working all the way thru the holidays.
Only Dec.25 and Jan.1 are my off days.
Customer ordered this big chamber part I made back in Sept. and now they want another.
Don't like working thru but the alternative such as the unemployment line doesn't sound very appealing either.
Hi Jay,
On my 2k box you can right click on app and click properties then click on compatibility so old stuff even from 95 can run. Haven't tried old dos stuff tho'.
Don't have XP yet so don't know about it.
Hi,
Click on NC Utils,Def. tools,Library. Now with your mouse right click in the window and select Create New Tool. You'll see alot of options presented at this point and I recommend you use ? to answer your own questions. Clicking on the undefined tool tab opens another window with more options for you to learn. At this point you will see at the bottom 3 options for tool defining Auto,Custom File, and Custom Level these will be where you want to play.
Good Luck
