  1. Ok as requested! This is probably a no-no but.... Take a look people! X in the Flesh! As seen at IMTS! If this is a no-no...webby remove.
  2. Free or got the money to blow? Free...eDrawings Viewer from SolidWorks, ProE has a viewer too, called ProductView. Must viewers will not find area or volume. SolidWorks will open most 2d and 3d file and calculate volumes and mass. AutoCAD and Inventor will do the same too, as will most CAD apps. But you are still talking $4000+ for any good CAD app. I don't believe AutoCAD LT, $500 range, will open all files and I don't think it will find mass properties or volume. But it is a cheap/light version CAD app. IMHO BTW
  3. Ours came in upside down, on a brand new machine! Too funny
  4. I'll get photos tomorrow....and post them Monday if I can sneak a picture.
  5. So the logon.scr / logon screen saver and cmd.exe hold also hold the password? Password recovery for Linux I have read on seen on TechTV...it's not the easiest I remember. Easy way is not to forget it. Look here: http://tools.search.yahoo.com/language/tra...7c0a7f8627d1ac4 e6&lp=it_en
  6. type in mastercam mousepad into Google and hit I'm feeling lucky. BEWARE link it not safe for work! Did you see the the one about typing in xxxx and i'm feeling lucky takes you to SCO and weapons of mass destruction takes you to a funny 404 page!
  7. Bullines...ok it's "is an Open Source implementation of the Windows API on top of X and Unix" I stand corrected For everyone else.. quote: Think of Wine as a Windows compatibility layer. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, as it is a completely alternative implementation consisting of 100% Microsoft-free code, but it can optionally use native system DLLs if they are available. Wine provides both a development toolkit (Winelib) for porting Windows sources to Unix and a program loader, allowing many unmodified Windows binaries to run on x86-based Unixes, including Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris.And..... quote: VMware Workstation works by enabling multiple operating systems and their applications to run concurrently on a single physical machine. These operating systems and applications are isolated in secure virtual machines that co-exist on a single piece of hardware. The VMware virtualization layer maps the physical hardware resources to the virtual machine's resources, so each virtual machine has its own CPU, memory, disks, I/O devices, etc. Virtual machines are the full equivalent of a standard x86 machine. VMware Workstation enables enterprise software developers to develop and test the most complex networked server-class applications running on Windows, Linux or NetWare all on a single desktop. Brent teh copy and paste I agree that Wine is better and better and will never run a high-end app, but it does run some ok. If you want to run a windows app...run it on a windows box...right? Someday maybe...
  8. SAM Inside is another one....but I think it's not free. If they encrypted any files doing hash insertion will not allow you to see any of the files under that user. Be aware of that. LC5 is d*mn near full proof. It will eventually get the password. If it is a common dictionary/hybrid..it does it no time flat. That a looksee... With any bootable linux CD you could navigate to the system32config folder and copy out the SAM file to CD, floppy, thumb drive, etc. Then send me your sam file and I can give you the pwds...if you like. And also if this is really for a legit use only would I do it. HTH
  9. What I have done in the past is this. Get a pic, a scan, whatever. Do a few filters, play with the levels and some other tricks in photoshop to get basically a pure black and pure white pic. Since I assume it will be a logo this may not be needed Insert the image into AutoCAD, then trace around the image with lines, arc, polylines or use the sketch command. Turn SKPoly to 1 to sketch is polylines. With a sketched polyline you can then use use the Pedit command and turn into a Spline to smooth it out more. Just an idear Look here I did this from a picture of my son and made a keychain. The otherside has my daughter.
  10. +1 to teh Pooh! Win2K @ work Win2K and Linux @ home...I even have an XP box too. VMWare and Wine do have their limits but or very good emulators. There are many bootable linux's now. Is it Linuxes, Linuxs or Linuii? Knoppix, Knoppix STD, PHLAK, DamnSmall Linux, Dynebolic Here is a good list of Live Linux CDs distros http://www.frozentech.com/content/livecd.php Check this one out! http://www.linuxcnc.org May teh Tux be with you!
  11. RSS files also are Rockwell / AB ladder logic program files. I mean RS Logix files http://www.software.rockwell.com/rslogix/ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=...=RSlogix+%2BRSS
  12. Send me your SAM file and I'll tell you the password! http://www.atstake.com/products/lc/ It's great for pwd recovery.
  13. SolidWorks also has a good ISO/DIN listing of tolerances and fits...which is closer the pages I scanned. I can get the book title, rev/edition of the book. It is a German-ISO/DIN machinery's handbook basically.
  14. What the your http://data1systems.com/ forum site about? 12 members? Is it a personal forum or is it open to the public? What do you post about mainly?
  15. Is it air cooled or liquid cooled? Intel Inside or NOS Inside? Makes my case look like a 3 cylinder Yugo!!
  16. Check these out.... I scanned them from a German mach. handbook we have here. http://webpages.charter.net/wilkerson/othe...ndards%2001.JPG http://webpages.charter.net/wilkerson/othe...ndards%2002.jpg http://webpages.charter.net/wilkerson/othe...ndards%2003.jpg HTH
  17. Our drafters, me, uses AutoCAD to dimension and make a pretty print. Our Engineers use a napkin and pen and have our drafters, me, draw their idea in SolidWorks or AutoCAD. Our Plant Engineer/Facilities Engineer marks up a print for machine moves and building updates and has our drafters, me, draw up the plans in AutoCAD. Our CAM guy, me, gets the drawings from the Tooling Engineer, Process Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer to program the part in MasterCAM. Take "me" out of each and it would work still.....right?
  18. Maybe try dumping your cookies, or just the ones for Google and try again. Usually what you pick for a language will stay on the computer as default. Maybe run a Spyware removal program...maybe your browser is getting Hijacked. Look for HiJack This, Spybot Search&Destroy, AdAware, CW Shredder....all good tools. HTH
  19. +1 to www.pricewatch.com Then check http://www.resellerratings.com for an online /eStore eval. of them. Read the good, the bad and the ugly on a company. Also good for price comparing too. Take a look: http://resellerratings.dealtime.com/xPC-PN...I_128MB_DDR_DUA
  20. Check out http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ For lots of DHTML!
  21. Mine has been HACKED!!! Ok I changed to hacker language....they have Elmer Fudd, Pig Lation and Klingon!
  22. Ok...... How about a table? With a couple lines? In the table??
  23. I was going to just get another HD to install AltLinux. I have drive bays tray you can swap. I didn't meant switch to a different distro on a new drive. I'd still have Mandrake...I don't have enough room on the Linux drive to dual boot with LILO or GRUB. I'll just swap out another drive for a new distro. Can you dual boot over 2 different drives? I think I asked this before. How do you see... Security Flaws Found in SP2! duh! Link here: http://www.heise.de/security/artikel/50051
