  1. I think that's usually a machine builders option. On Robodrill's it's a button just to the right of the block skip button.
  2. Does anyone here have knowledge or experience with Fidia 5 Axis machines? I'm looking for small gantry or bridge type machine with 5 axis capability. Do you know of any possibilities. The capacity need to be approx 1500 x 800 mm.
  3. Yep that should work John, That's what I do in Ver 9
  4. J, Are you doing this on a 5 axis machine?
  5. I'd look for a G18 or a G19 further down in the code just to make sure the error is not being generated in the read ahead buffer.
  6. Smit, I've recently had to do some deep undercuts with a 4" slotmill and had luck with "Surface Rough Pocket" with the roughing turned off. I also needed to use a start point to prevent the cutter from a bad exit in Z. For the part I was doing nothing else worked.
  7. Your other otion is to put the canned text you want into your control.def file in MCX.. as all that stuff is read from the control file and not the post as it was in Ver 9
  8. Ditto here. No edits required... post & go
  9. Seth, Generally you always need to use lead in & lead out when using any cutter comp, otherwise you may see another error if you're cutting an arc also.
  10. Keith, If you can try using Ver9.1 Sp2 without any mr's.. as in mr0105..I've found Ver9.1 MRs' slowed down MC considerably as in 20 to 1 on some toolpaths.
  11. How did you create those radii on the model.. and are they supposed to be 1.308 and .621? Dynamic analyze shows them to be varied.. not sure if that's what you intended.
  12. This would be a MAJOR problem for me. It would take weeks to regen the current project I'm working on. As it is I'm using MCam 9.1 SP2...with out any MR's installed because toolpath generation is a factor of 10 slower with mr0105.. using surf rough pocket and restmill toolpaths. Any comments from CNC Software?
  13. I frequently have around 200 ops in a file. I have no idea of the most I've had, but I always try to keep the number of ops to a minimum with multiple pockets or contours, surfaces etc. in one operation. Ralph V9.1 MR0105, Mill L3, Solids, Win 2000 sp4 X MR2- Installed
  14. dittos I hope they cam improve memory handling in X2 also. I have a flow5axis toolpath that generated fine in 9.1 but runs out of memory in MR2..
  15. I've had great luck with a MTECH D900T from m-techlaptops.com. Its a 3.6 P4 with a Qaudro FX Go 1400
  16. I had this recently and found someone had moved some surfaces tthat had been used to trim some solids.. and the solids could not be regenerated.. try expanding the solids tree in the solids manager and see if any of the ops need to be regenerated.. you may not see a red X unless you expand the soilds tree.
  17. John, You may be missing somthing here.. If you "pick" a point at X0 Y0 Z0 then the incremental Z-.075 from that point would be Z-.075, the increment that you enter on the drill parameter page is from the point you pick.. not the absolute Z top of stock that you enter in previous box. Likewise if you "pick" a point at X0 Y0 Z.125 then you would have Z.05 as absolute drill depth as you desire.
  18. As iowajim62 mentioned it could be drawbar strength.. Check with your machine tool dealer or tool holder seller and ask if they have a drawbar tension checker.. the beleville springs usually used to create that tension do wear over time.. also if you have excessive moisture in your air lines, it can cause them to rust and break into many pieces... You would noit believe what I have seen. You can do a quick check by taking a small screw driver and test tendion by lightly prying toolholder away from spindle face.
  19. I just started using the high speed machining of pockets. I used highfeed to dramatically speed up the air cutting time to obtain a real benefit from trochoidal machining.
