On the System Configuration, Tolerances page
You will find Maximum Surface Deviation among others. Click the ? mark and select the field definitions tab to get an explanation of how each works.
I find I have better luck by creating a Single coons surf and using a flowline path.
Something else to consider is the quality of the Surface if the surface has facets no settings are going to eliminate them. If it is the surface you can create a new on with tighter tolerances and then the machined part will look better.
OOPS double posteded it

Same here mine is named Backup_MCX
I use 7min. interval with autosave and increment of 1 max limit of 3. which gives me 4 files(including the active one) for the past approx 28min.
I try to clear the folder of anything older than about 2wks.
I do mine Like Aaron suggests with one exception I do a side by side install and I just update the paths to the new dirctory(s) So Perseid88 you could still do this just find the files and copy them to the new directory.
Another thing I do to keep things neat is when I finish the install, in all of the directories I will be adding my custom files to I make a folder called MCAM_defaults and I move everything into tohose folders so my custom files are alone in the main Config, Cnc Machines directories and so on.
I also leave these Folders on the Desktop and update them periodically so I have a back up of my custom settings I can easily put on another machine or use if a reinstall becomes necessary.
Windows has a cool tool for syncing folders that work great for this. SyncToy

I was going to suggest it may be the memory board on the KM3 we had one replaced and it also has the com ports on it. the problem we had was when it did load it only took about 1400 lines then would error.
Call Sieg Lemke (503)SevenEightNine7240 he is the best we found with the Hurcos.
Welcome to the forum Cam!
Make sure you are current with X2 MR1 SP1, web page
And watch the videos, they will give you clues as to where functions are and how to get around in X2.
Search this forum, if you get stuck on something someone here has probably already asked the Question. HTH
Thad,
I agree with you when you import ops w/geo the detect flats limits should come through, but when importing without geo, the expectation is you will reselect new geo for the imported ops.
In the config file under shading and solids there is an option to change "Radial display curve angle" a smaller # = more facets do these settings effect the verify display?
Larry ask here I've had good result. Link

HAAS Tips
We have 3 HAAS mills here '97 VF3, '99 VF5, '04 VF3 10k. We make Aluminum molds, and the tooling to go along with them. Of these machines the oldest one had 1 day of down time, when the gear change solenoid stopped working properly, I ordered and changed the part myself. We run long runs, currently I'm running a job that has 5 sets of 26 hour cycle times, the Machine will be on it's last set today without stopping except for part change.
I have run Titanium(VF5, and TM1) Stainless, and Mild steel on the HAAS with good results, and if they are short occasional runs the HAAS will do just fine.
That being said there are Machines that a Job Shop that dealt with steel and Ti and so on longer runs etc. that would pay for the dif in price over the HAAS.
HAAS is getting better, the newer machines I've run for other shops that I have recently been helping are faster and handle steel better than before. HAAS also offers Machines with high tension drawbars glass scales etc. HAAS is a US company and from what I have seen they are a very competitive growing Machine tool company and not far from catching the other guys in the next few years. I have heard Horror stories about other machine tool brands being delivered and not running parts for months, the last HAAS we had delivered ran the day the electrician wired it in.

If it makes August I will be floored.

I'd have to agree, I just saw that in my resellers Monthly Newsletter and thought I'd pass it along.

Cimco Edit 5 in Mastercam X2 MR2
Based on requests from the Resellers and customers, Cimco Edit5 will be included in Mastercam with the release of Mastercam X2 MR2 due in August. The Cimco Edit5 that is included in MR2 contains Cimco Edit Standard, Intelligent File Compare, 1 DNC Link, which allows multiple configurations, but one active transfer at a time. (This is not the full edition of Edit5).
Those who already have the full version or choose to purchase the full version of Cimco Edit5 will have the added functionality of the NC backplotter. The backplotting module supports turning, 2D/3D milling, 5-Axis milling, and features the new and faster CIMCO 3D Solid simulation kernel.
Using a new CNC code translator with ISO code support for drilling cycles etc., and full Heidenhain support, you will get a more accurate visualization of your CNC programs than ever before.
