  1. In settings/config/Verify settings/ select file for stock shape, hit the folder button and select a file(a dummy .stl you will later delete) in the folder you want it to default to. save your setting and then try a verify. Now delete the .stl from that folder and try verify again, windows/mcam should remember the path from that point forward.
  2. Also transfer your OPS, Posts, tools folders. to avoid problems with directory paths you should make sure they all go in the same places the were in your old machine ex: C:MCAMX2MillOPS make sure the full path is the same as your old machine or you'll be redoing many steps.
  3. CNC 00037571 The sorting function fails to update the screen when using entities selection method for selecting drill points. 1) Drill TP 2) Click on "ENTITIES" method. 3) Select geometry entities to drill, press enter to display drill points and sorting or click Sorting Button. 4) Select a sorting method from the Sorting dialog and press enter or green check. Screen should update at this point with the method of choice but it doesn't. It takes entering and then exiting the sorting dialog a second time for the method to update. This will repeat every time.
  4. "Is there a way to get X2 Arc multiedit.dll to work in x3?" It is in the X3 add-on on the FTP /Mastercam_forum/X3_Add_Ons/Arc MultiEdit (X3).zip
  5. Welcome to the forum, since Oct. 2005 and 1 post. There must be a prize for oldest member with lowest post here right?
  6. quote: ___________________________ Haas with scales why???? ___________________________ I agree John our HAAS machines are so accurate, the scales would be a wasted expense. Besides you are to much of a "Clique Idiot" to buy American. j/k
  7. Welcome back Mike, can't believe it has been 2 yrs. already.
  8. How new is your machine? I would contact HAAS customer service in Oxnard directly. We have 3 HAAS machines here from 11 - 4 yrs old all of which hold tolerance better then HAAS specs, and none have glass scales.
  9. X3 is a new version, free upgrade to those with current maint.
  10. What I have done for some Carbon Fiber molds like this is use rough pocket and cut depths (first op z min 0, max -2.00. Op2 Z min -1.95 max -4.00) and so on for each level of MDF and use TC Boundaries for each level. Or On a 3axis router I have machined the 2" level complete then glue on the next level and machine it complete finish and blend with the previous level then glue on the next until you have a complete finished part. This method allows you to get a good finish and use shorter cutters/holders at faster feed rates. It also gives you access to features that the size of the finished part may require another setup to accomplish. Good luck.
  11. Once the part is merged go to (All) select group manager you will see a group that mastercam has created for the merged geo, select the group green check your merged geo is now highlighted now right click on attributes at the bottom of the screen and select the color, level etc. for your group. Done
  12. I don't but one could be made fairly easily first you need to find the one you want. Here Link
  13. Bogusmill, Have you played with the affinity in the benchmark? it would be interesting to see if mastercam was pushed back to the last 3 processors it would still run the same speed and free the first for other windows apps.
  14. Here is a 48 tooth 'H' series Pulley using dimensions from the Machinery's Handbook on Synchronous Belts and Gear.dll
  15. I opened System information the other day and my system was using 598mb of 4gig this was before opening anything. Currently w/ 2 mcam outlook and Firefox ram is at 1394mb, 2700mb available.
  16. X3 will be out when CNC is ready to release it. They could release it without doing a BETA cycle and then you would see how much is caught by the BETA process. Mastercam would be bulletproof you everyone here could just agree on one Machine tool, one computer, one operating system, and one set of settings and agree to never upgrade or update any of these things. But that will never happen and who would want it too. Things are getting better and better and the process should never end.
  17. My boss still uses V9 exclusively on the new Hasp, XP Pro SP2, but I can't use it on the New XP 64bit system I'm using, just a thought if your getting HASP not found are you running Vista or XP 64bit???
  18. I noticed when using 1 line it only leads in/out on the finish pass of one of the walls. The slot I was cutting was open on both end so I just extended the geo to make it work.
  19. I knew this was fake as soon as I read FU.dll I couldn't help but read on though.. Good One.
  20. Man I hate when I get side tracked when replying and someone beats me to the punch. Someone's math is off here. What did I do wrong?
  21. Using 48 inch bar and your #'s I get 11.002 parts per bar. 4+.161+.020=4.181(mat per part) 4'=48"-2"(for chuck)=46"/4.181=11.002152595(parts per bar)2.092 drop so you could cut them 47.908 and get 11 parts and 2" drop. I never took calc.
  22. My boss just came back from a tour of the Haas facility in Oxnard CA. He was amazed at the fact they would let the group loose to go anywhere they wanted in the facilty, They could talk to anyone and ask any questions they wanted. They spent time with the engineers and the engineering dept. at Haas seemed to be empty, not because they were not there but they were working on the floor with the machinists to see the projects through. HAAS is replacing the brand X machines that have been used to build the components on with HAAS machines. The company has come a long way and with customer support and company values HAAS has they will continue to grow and improve. I suggest anyone who wants to get work done look into buying a HAAS. If you want to hassle with a control designed in Japakoreachinese and then dial the country code+ # to get a part when it breaks buy something else. BTW we have 5 VMC's here that all run lights out 3 of which are HAAS 1996-2004 and one of the other brand machines is down today for repair.
  23. In system configuration under files there is a box for apply last machine definition.
