Off the MPMaster post here is what the tapping cycle looks like:
ptap$ #Canned Tap Cycle
pdrlcommonb
#RH/LH based on spindle direction
if rigid_tap, pbld, n$, *sm29, *speed, e$ #Rigid Tapping
if use_pitch = 0,
Provided that sm29 is defined as the M29 string, if your post is not configured that way then you can substitute for "M29" with apostrophes.
Are you sure you want pages and pages of code? or is it the Path to the NC file what you need. I currently place the MCAM file path as it happens to be the same path as the NC file except for the mainfolder, one is NC files and the other MCAM Files, the DNC software I configured so that when they send a program it already opens the NC file and the operator take it from there with nothing but ease.
Im using Dynamic Area Mill, there is no Finishing page in that one.
@ Goldorak, it cant be the post, it shows up in backplot. I will try switching to single region but it might now show as this problem shows up in the second and consecutive pockets not the first.
I will be uploading the file to the FTP soon.
I was programming one of our rotary dies and this bizarre thing happened. An unknown feed and speed showed up in the code and the program was no longer running at the parameters I had programmed it at. See pictures:
Programmed cut rate
Entry is at 25 now, but on the first try I had it at 54IPM and 25IPM showed in the code.
Entry code looks OK, after this trouble begins.
Where in the world did that 2600RPM come from, and from here on out 25IPM is what the remainder of the toolpath runs at, but it was set at 54IPM whats going on.
For those of you that think its the post, here is the image of backplot. This is the second PKT, its 6 total same shape, the first is OK.
Is CNC Due for an MU1 or Maybe another re-release ? Or perhaps I made a mistake programming this thing ?
What I did to greatly speed this up was open the RPX file with the MCAM Editor and remove the CAPTURES subreport from there. What it does is actually display each toolpath and take a snapshot of each one, this is both time consuming and unnecessary. My report still generates the main page CAPTURE but skips the other OPS, I mean it is fast, the only draw back I've noticed is that when the captures are gone so is the Cycle Time calculation; this happened after X4 MU1. If I open an old program the Cycle Time is back and so are the CAPTURES unless I replace the MD in the machine properties. The Cycle Time is off anyways as it does not take into account pecking cycles and tool changes.
For a sorted tool list you can go to the Tool Manager, Rt click on import/export then either detailed report or report. This is a sorted tools report, I wonder if it can be called from the standard setup sheet report as a subreport. Colin might know !
Can you share this tool list, I really like it. I can take a look and figure it out why the tools repeat,I have a pretty nice setup sheet but the way you layed out your is better.
Just had an instance today where the tool would plunge to the center of the part then peck up to the geometry in the increments defined in the peck groove page. Chaging the retract moves from absolute to incremental fixed it, if you want to use absolute you have to include the parts OD I guess.
I dont have that problem, why dont you uninstall and reinstall the software. I would clean the registry free of anything that said Mastercam and delete the Mastecam folder. Be careful if you want to deal with the registry as this can brick your system if you delete the wrong thing.
Hi,
We have our files on a network and what I did was place the files on my desktop under an X6 folder and create the proper structure. I selected the network location as the source and the desktop as the destination, when I start using X6 I had to update the paths to point to the desktop folder and I lose the CD settings when a new post is selected, is there a fix for this. We will be running X5 MU1 and X6 for a while so when I am ready to get rid of X5 MU1 will I have to update the paths again to the network location and lose my CD settings again. Is there a way to replace a post without loosing your CD settings ?. I could have update everything in the source network folder since most libraries have a -5 or -6 but the fact that the posts do not crushed that idea to crumbles. What is the best approach to updating while on a network ?
