Have you tried to reset all dialog windows in the Mastercam Applet ? Or perhaps reload the tool states.
-
Correct me if im wrong but cant you turn a setting on in the CD to take care of these far easier than editing the POST.

We are also looking into SpaceClaim, Can you bring a model into Solidworks and Offset it per each Operation. How about saving the cut stock as an STL and making a print out of that in Solidworks ?

Check out what happens when I try to do a Xform ToolPath Rotate, the STL vefiry goes nuts and there is an unknow to me error when I try to post. Talk about bad code, there are double -- on the coordinates.

Here is the Contour with the same effect, I like this better since it can do a finish depth cut. How can I do a finish pass with the surface toolpaths, do I have to make a separate toolpath for Finish ?

Thats nice but the ramp angle is around 26deg, im afraid the tool will build up and fail. I used a Surface Finish Shallow and used direction to do a 5deg ramp 1.1" long; I used the slot's edges as a boundary and it worked like a charm. Will be trying to figure a shallower ramp with contour which should be 1.1"length and .096" height. Thx for the Help guys !

You should Blank your geometry once you have created the solid, this will prevent you or anyone else from modifying or corrupting the Solid Geometry.

Problem im having is the entry plunge, material is SS304 and im worried that the tool would clog up and fail. Wondering if there is a way to ramp the entry with a contour and comp set to off.

Any ideas on how to tackle this part, all I have to do is a .375D slot .09Deep and a 60Deg Chamfer around its edge (x50). Any suggestions, I have used a simple contout with Comp off, and created the center line at height to drive it, then swept a surface using the upper and lower rail to run a flowline path on the chamfer. Any suggestions, wanna use the best path available. Thx !

A stock computed from selected toolpaths and material stock. It can be used like an STL but without the hassle of having to load an external file, you can also do a compare on the spot without re-verifying.

I made a solid within the MCX file, no STl; I am aware that the STLs have to be saved with the WCS they were machined in active. =)

Hello everyone, Wondering if anyone has some insight on why do you have to setup the stock view in the Stock Model Toolpath to TOP for it to display right. I am using a Solid Stock on a separate level on my Current OP1 WCS but if I setup the stock view to OP1 the stock does not fall in the right place. See attached !

You need to use a boundary when you use contour, and definetly use gap settings to reduce retracts; I suggest you to use follow surface as your transition method.

Hello Everyone, I am CNC programmer with 11+Yrs of experience, can program and setup CNC Mills up to 4th-axis, CNC Lathes up to 3-axis, have taken several programming courses in Mastercam and Advanced Mastercam. I am willing to learn any CAM software other than MasterCAM, have Vericut knowledge, and can use SolidWorks. I have taken the 5-axis programming course but haven't really used the skill as we do not require that where I currently work. I am seeking to expand my knowledge and to grow within the company that will hire me. [email protected] Leave your email if you want a copy of my Resume. Regards, William. Sorry forgot to mention that I am looking in California for now, although willing to relocate for the right opportunity. Thanks for all those that have replied out of state so far.
