  1. We have a Laser with a Fanuc control. Does it have program restart like the Haas control. I haven't gotten into it yet but is there a setting I need to turn on?
  2. one of the problems with the Tl lathes post is they are oriented just like how you are looking at the part. The down side is everything is backwards from how you program every other lathe out there. I just programmed mine with the generic Haas SL and St posts. This way you're not always flipping your tools. And any program done on the TL lathes will work with the SL lathes with almost no changes.
  3. I can't do that because all the references disappear when I turn it. I have no idea about any of the clocking of the holes after I make it round. The fixturing alloy might work pretty well.
  4. I have some parts I have a question about. I have little nose pieces with .023 holes drill in them (think of a pitot tube). I had to drill the holes first to make sure they line up with each other. Now I have to turn them to the finish size. Normally its not that big of a deal but the holes are so small they close up and I can barely tell where they are at. I was thinking about plugging the holes with a little aluminum and then turning it. After that dissolving the aluminum out somehow. Do you guys have any better ideas? Main material is 15-5
  5. I use whole numbers for the feedrate and then just multiply to get my spindle speed. 10ipm X 40 tpi = 400 rpm
  6. Is there a way to make solid chaining for lathe to spin the part instead of slicing the part. I have some parts that have 4th axis cuts in them but solid selection doesn't see all the geometry because of where the cuts fall in the construction plane. Its an easy fix with creating a 2d spin turn profile but I was wondering if there was something I was missing in the solids chain menu.
  7. You said Accupro. Probably made in Spain by Newbeee.
  8. I totally forgot that Smit is a machinist also. I thought you only went scuba diving.
  9. So this is what I need to put in to fix this. (TOOL INSPECTION POINT - POST CUSTOMIZATION MAY BE REQUIRED) M00 G00 T0202 G97 S774 M3 G96 S200 M08 <---------------------------------------------(This line) G00 G54 Z-.3175
  10. I have a small problem with the tool inspection cycle. After the M00 the machine changes itself to G96 to G97 and doesn't turn the coolant back on. How do I fix this? ptool_insp #Tool inspection point #Modify following lines to customize output for tool inspection points if posttype$ = two, #Lathe tool inspection point [ "(TOOL INSPECTION POINT - POST CUSTOMIZATION MAY BE REQUIRED)", e$ if prmcode$ = 29999, #Only output tool insp comment if one was entered with this insp point [ sparameter$ = ucase(sparameter$) pbld, n$, *sm00, sopen_prn, sparameter$, sclose_prn, e$ ] else, pbld, n$, *sm00, e$ #Output just the stop if no comment pbld, n$, *sgcode, *toolno, e$ #Restate tool number pbld, n$, pfsgplane, e$ #Restate plane code prpm # Output programmed RPM #Restate spindle prv_feed = c9k #Set prv_values to c9k to force them out with next moves prv_gcode$ = c9k prv_workofs$ = c9k if coolant$, prv_coolant$ = c9k ] else, #Mill tool inspection point pbld, n$, *sm00, "(TOOL INSPECTION POINT - POST CUSTOMIZATION REQUIRED)", e$
  11. Man you guys get all the good toys. We are barely able to keep our Haas's repaired. Just got notice today that we may be able to get 3 early 2000's integrex machines off gsa. So i'm pretty excited about that.
  12. Did you make sure you have repeat tap turned on? Setting 133
  13. Does this machine have a milling mode like the Haas? I have found that giving the control the power to use X's and Y's works so much better than using X's and C's. Plus the code is way smaller.
  14. Ok looks like I got it to work. I think. I am still having trouble with a few programs. Specifically. O09833 (REN OMP40 OFF) G103 P1 G04 P1 G04 P1 G04 P1 G04 P1 G04 P1 G04 P1 #3001= 0 G04 P250 G04 P1 G04 P1 G04 P1 G04 P1 G04 P1 G04 P1 IF [ #3001 LT 200 ] GOTO999 N2 #4= 0 N3 M69 P1134 (NEITHER PROBE ON) G04 P200 #4= #4 + 1 (TRY TURN ON 4 TIMES) IF [ #4 EQ 4 ] GOTO4 #3001= 0 (RESET MS TIMER) WH [ #1029 NE 1 ] DO1 (WAIT FOR OTS OFF) (((((( We don't have the ots so this doesn't work for us)))))))) IF [ #3001 GT 3000. ] GOTO3 (OMP40 FAIL TO TURN OFF AFTER 3 SEC TRY AGAIN) END1 GOTO5 N4 #3000= 1 (PROBE SWITCH OFF FAILURE) N5 N999 G187(BACK TO DEFAULT) G103 M99 and the only code we found that actually turns off the touch probe is M53. Reset does nothing and m30 doesn't do it. And it only seems to turn off from MDI and not when I write it into a program.
  15. I've looked through most of that website. I can't quite find the answer. I have also been in contact with our HFO rep and he is even confused. All of our machines have probes on them but there is something different and quirky about this one.
  16. We just got a 2nd hand Haas Mill, that was not factory equipped with probing. I have the tool setter working but I have not been able to get the correct macros for the part probe. I don't understand macro programming enough to get into it. Could anyone help point me in the right direction.
  17. I think that picture has to be from Langley. My building was built by 1945 but it doesn't look like where I work. Langley just passed their 100th anniversary as a research center so its probably there.
  18. There should be something in your post that talks about continuous C-axis type. It sounds like you want to select "signed continuous" motion. That should give you both positive and negative motions that are greater that 0-360
  19. How do I limit a c axis rotary to 360 in the toolpath itself. Right now the post realizes that the machine has the limit and does a retract but how do I force 5X parallel toolpath to not treat the toolpath like a continuous motion. So it would Zig to 360° and Zag back to 0°.
  20. Are you just looking for like a speeds and feeds calculator or something more specific?
  21. What is the Tangency Factor Value that is associated with a Postability post? It asks for a number between 1-40 with a default of 8 flashing.
