  1. thats who its coming from but not with wait codes.
  2. Hi all, we are taking delivery of a Takisawa TMM250 multi axis w/Fanuc 160is. Anyone have one? Its similar to a Mazak integrex or Okuma macturn. The machine has main spindle & 2nd spindle, lower turret that works both chucks, full B-axis / Y-axis mill/turn upper turret that works both chucks also. At this moment I'm using the generic fanuc 4x mt.pst What do you use? Does anyone have a post that outputs wait codes & works great with the fanuc? If so how do I get it? Do I need to have my reseller contact a reseller that has it? Fastech - Alex already will modify a post for us, minus the wait codes. Thats fine with me, but I'm not the only one gonna run this machine & the other guys are wanting the wait codes. Thank you in advance. also any opinions of how you program this type of machine would be great.

    IMTS

I'll be there tuesday to thursday. I'll be looking at 5-axis mills, multi axis lathes & OD/ID grinders. And looking at MasterCam X4. Hopefully we'll run into each other.
  4. I agree with ref points (thats what I do). And if the tailstock safty zone is defined correctly then he wont have to worry about crashing it. I would think defining the tailstock parameters would be the best option. Without proper parameters you could still crash with a z.5 then down in x if say you called up a boring bar with the tailstock inplace. With it defined you'll get a alarm. Tim
  5. ok I've got it now. I must have been typing something wrong. Thanks guys
  6. I did, but it wont let me change my e-mail address. The email is what I need help with. If I change my name wont I loose all my post count? I need all the help I can get with that.
  7. I'll be changing jobs soon, friday is my last day here at Christopher Tool. How can I still log into the forum with my name?

    Haas Vm3

I have a VF3 here that has been one of the most reliable machines we have EVER run. Its a 1996 model, if that says anything. It still holds within +/-.001 easy. And we’ve spent less than 4000.00 in repair costs, total. What model year are the machines you all are referring to? Maybe there is something to that. I also have a VF2 at home that I hold 16.000 +/- .0005 hole locations. Been doing that since 2002 but the machine still has less than 2500 hrs on it.
  9. Dont really remember it warping much after HT, but our parts wouldnt have warped much out of really any matl. I think these grew in length apx. 1/2-1% after HT.
  10. From what I remember it wasn't too bad. It work hardens easy. Treat it like a tough tool steel. Not as easy as 4340, more like A2 M2 I think it is a real tough matl., very high tensile strength. I made prototype diesel fuel injectors for GE out of it. They said the matl could stand the 300,000 psi they were ramming thru it. Turning was not a problem at all. 350-450 sfm .008 to rgh. Solid carb. mills/drills worked best for us in milling. 250-350 sfm carb mills, 150 sfm carb. drills, 75 sfm cobalt drills. HTH
  11. also CGS (cgstool.com) #HVM143-030
  12. Look at Jabro they have a #120030-mega Ø3mm with .3mm rad tool. I downloaded thier catalog from the seco website.
  13. Ok thanks guys. At the moment I'm just getting info for myself. Thanks for all the opinions.
  14. Does anyone run a Mikron HSM500 with the Heidenhain iTNC 530 control? If so what post do you use? How does it compare to the MC generic-heidenhain post? The mpmaster post? And those of you with a 5-axis mill, how often do you really use all 5 axis? In all of my years at this I’ve used 5-axis more as a 4+1 to access another side or multiple sides. So I’ve never really needed/used a true 5axis post. I’ve herd the opinions of many, but I’d rather here from you pros. Thanks How’s that Ron? 15. Maybe its printing on the th other side. j/k I had the same problem, we up graded to a better all-in-one keyocera(the old printer was pooping out). But it has a regular harddrive to buffer/scan & store data so I do believe the memory thing was the problem.
  16. well yea, but just after it was stolen he got stupid! Are you all high & dry over there?
  17. ... that will automatically adjust itself to each operators preferences!!?? URRGGHH!!! whew I feel a little better.
  18. Get well soon Best wishes to ya
  19. at the moment I'm cutting a xxxx 6al4v part with a Iscar 1.0 woct 928 954 rpm 114.5 feed .03 doc. its a contour type pass .2-1.0 width of cut. the inserts last apx 16min (1 part) they may be able to last longer, but not 32 min so they get rotated.
  20. We like the Iscar feedmills here, we tried Stellram & Hitachi also - not seco or the others though. We do tend to run the shallower DOC in Stainless & titanium (.03-.04). The pos WOCT inserts on stainless. We have a 17-4 35rc part we run a 1.0 feedmill at 1220 rpm & feed 120. The inserts last apx. 30-40 min. they do last longer with air blast but everything is hot so we use thru spindle coolant. The mills definatly work better with 90-100% stepover. toollife is drastically reduced when not taking a full width cut.
  21. We are finally going paperless, no more program printouts. We will still print setup sheets, sketches, tool lists etc. So my question: How do you all verify that your operator downloads the program? How to tell when they have downloaded all the programs on a multi op job? I have my ideas but I'd like to see if someone else has a better/ more reliable way. Thanks
  22. Can you use contour toolpath & select a 2 deg ramp instead of helical bore.?
  23. Art, are you good with Admac?
  24. ducati you should have mail
