  1. Look at ptlchg post block, the variable in this case is spdlon, the * in front forces the output. code: n, pwcs, "G0", *xr, *yr n, *speed, *spdlon, prange, pfr n, ptllncomp, *zr, pcoolon This method works for me. HTH Allan
  2. antelope, a simple search on google comes up with a page of Cracker sites, I even found a link to the file. Looks like UG renamed the file to combat the crackers. Not saying that is your intention, but if the shoe fits. Topic Closed Allan
  3. Try setting the cimco edit transmit properties to wait for xon before transfer. Then send the file, then hit the input button on the machine. I have had sucess with this method when all else seem hopeless. HTH Allan
  4. Ron, If you are using V8.0 you need to call your dealer and get a V8.1.1 Disk. That is the last release of that product, you might as well be using the most current.. Allan
  5. I would think that having a belt drive system would force you to use the tension compression holder, as others have stated (IMHO). Ive always had the best luck with the tension & compression holders. The go-nogo gauges were your friends! Are these 20000 holes all in the same part? How many holes per part? if there were more than 50 holes per part, I would consider using a jurry riged tap-o-matic. Put it right in the CNC, set up a stop for the arm. You would have to do manual tool change tho. HTH Allan
  6. I'm not sure what rob is refering to, could be saving the file in UG as a sldprt. www.cadcam-e.com These guys do file translation software they make a chook for MC that reads native UG files. They have a service where you pay as you go. I have never used it but you might want to check it out. HTH Allan P.S. tell them you heard about it on emastercam.com
  7. 203-187-adsl.red.retevision.es [80.224.187.203] http://www.vkham.com/Info/internet_suffixes.html ES Spain Looks like Spain to me, how are you guys getting Amsterdam? Are you using a visual tracert, if so the geographical location has been entered wrong. Make no mistake this ip add is in Spain. Allan
  8. iowajim62 and CNCme good observation skills. This was a test. Of course there is more that one way to get there there is usually about 3 ways to do anything in Mastercam, cept for the stock view in Lathe then it is only acessable thru the operation manager. Allan
  9. The dashed lines are only graphicaly dashed in the database they have a start and end point like any other line. To actually machine a dashed line you need to break the line up into dashed pieces and chain the dashed pieces. HTH Allan
  10. While you could write a post like that. There is an alternative called a setup sheet. You can only access it thru a right click in the operations manager. There are two different types one is graphical done thru a chook, the other is a .set file that is posted using the mp.dll in the exact manner as the .pst file. The .set file is found in the post directory. That file can be customized alot...check out the html set-up sheet on this web site.
  11. Here is another way Here is a topic I found while doing a search that was real easy using the search button at the top of the page Looks like iges is the way to go. HTH Allan

    DNC

Cimco DNC-Max has a restart feature, Cimco edit does not. Here is how the feature is worded in the brochure Multiple send/restart functions give the operator the ability to send from any point in file, specified by line number, block number or tool change - including remotely with remote request The software will make the tool call turn the spindle on and apply the length comp for the curent tool. It just works! Allan
  13. Dan I just reread your post. quote: this is dangerous after drill cycles because the bit will go back through the last hole and if it doesn't crash going down the table going to 0 will break the bit off. The after drill cycle thing brings up a thought is there a G80 before the G0G91G28Z0? That could be an issue. HTH Allan
  14. I'll second James, that command has worked on every HAAS I've seen or set a post up for. We are talking hundreds of machines. There is something screwy if a G91G28Z0 does not take the machine to Z Home. My 2 Cents Allan
  15. Are you saying there are no turret mounting bolts? Is it all one piece? There must be some shear pins in there someplace! I was parting off some tube stock once 14" dia OD 12.875 ID 12" from the chuck.... Blade was pretty thick .156 or so. It grabbed and launched the door off the old Mori. I figured no biggy, reset everything ran the boring tool, turning tool, sizes were funny, changed offsets. Ran the part off tool again, door flew off! I decided to clock up one of the tool holders on the turet, it was out a mile. There were alum shear pins on that turet, sheared of course they even had a tapered pin hole in there so you could get it back into location without much trouble. Good luck on the hardinge. Allan
  16. Sounds like a rounding issue try changing the format statement (s) for the arcs in the post. HTH Allan
  17. Finished up reverse eng. some old die sections for Mustang seats.
  18. I've cured this prob before. Try setting 16Bit colour for starters. If all else fails turn off the hardware vid aceleration That card is mentioned in an old thread here Old thread that i found when I searched so somebody (Mike Harrington) is using this thing sucessfully. There must be good drivers somewhere. What kind of card is it one like here Cerative Labs GL1 Or one like here Fire GL website Or are they the same thing? Good luck on the driver search, I hope you aren't expementing on Win NT4 because it hates the wrong vid drivers
  19. Video Card, Video Card, Video Card, Video Card Driver, Driver, Driver, Driver, Driver Turn down the video aceleration, find a better driver, find a new video card. Allan
  20. If you have updated your post from V8 the updatepost chook will modify the post to linerize the helix. Search in the post for helix you will see what I meen. Allan
  21. Yes No, a smartcam post will not run in MC
  22. Or look in this thread Logos It was right on the first page! Try using the search when logging on to a board BEFORE posting questions. The board has over 5000 members now and there was no fanfare. Who remembers when we broke the 1000 mark? Allan [ 03-06-2003, 12:41 AM: Message edited by: Allan ]
  23. Welcome to the forum. There are several former smartcam users on the forum, I am not one of them. When they discontinued the product, I thought of starting a support group for the poor souls. After a little seat time you'll love it IMHO. Allan
  24. Could be the version of SAT, If you put the file on jays FTP site we could check it out. Have you sent this into your dealer? Or better yet [email protected] Allan
  25. 2 GB of ram . should be tonnes Is the part modeled in MC or is this an import via parasolid. How big is the file, what if you import using surfaces only?
