Perhaps you want to use the convert splines to arc command. The break splines to arcs command has a look ahead and i think that is where the problem is.

Did you recieve you customer newsletter? They had a nice piece in there on using the wcs. Check it out

I've got that small VB app to rename files in unlimited directories. I did not write the app it belongs to a customer of mine, If any one is intrested I'll check how much a licence for it would be worth.

Well the 1K price diffrence sound a bit light. The diffrence in cost of the motor and speed controller plus mark up would be about that. Is ther any change to the spindle dia?
I would get the larger motor even if your not going to use the power. The motor and speed controller will last longer, and a larger motor would run more efficently.

For the Haas I would switch the post to the mighty Mpmaster post right away, It has all the switches in the post for what you want to do. (Thanks be to Dave ) But as Glenn said with the Haas you can get the controller to do the math, much easier.

Concerning the SolidWorks view change that dynamically rotates from the existing to new position. I don't think it was SDRC that had it first I saw it about 10 years ago on Solutions 3000 or Think3. JM2C

In V7 Lathe you'll be redrawing/redefining tools, In V9 it is a click of a button. Why do you want to change the set up of Mastercam? I have several customers with the same machine and they program with the typical configuration. If it bothers you that the tools come in from the top turn the monitor upside down it would be easier.
Allan
That endevour would not be plesant nor productive. I would get the upgrade to V9 you will get subprogram support and a host of other features. I am sure most would agree.
Allan
What is the feed rate? try going sloooow see if it cuts. Sounds like the machine is not tracking arcs correctly. You could shut the filter off in MC.

Ok looks like it is 15IPM, and linerized code. Try arc filtering and tighten up the cut tolerance.

It could just be rf noise in the air, check your ground, it should be on the machine side only.
The fadal is live to the serial port all the time. Try it out by sending a program with DNC as the first line, when you are in command prompt at the fadal, the machine will immediately go into DNC mode and wait for cycle start.
You could try receiving a program on the fadal and see what characters come up. There was a virus once that would send out "One Small Step For Mankind" on every port of the computer.

Mastercams macro ability has come a long way in V9 check it out. You could always insert a pattern for repetitive geometry it supports surfaces and solids.

The UG convertor supports toolpaths? From UG Cam I assume. That would be a neat trick can you post a sample file I think we would all like to see that one. The UG converter works OK but does not support face colours or compressed files. The compressed files are supported by Solid edge. Check it out on your files, I've seen way to many compressed UG files to recomend it without testing it on your typical files.

I got the surface in no problem. It is a very complex surface, are you producing the surface from a point cloud?
I'm guessing a single coons is no where close.
If you are able, you should limit the complexity of the surface or split up the surface based on features. New file placed igestest_2.zip same place.

When you install V6 it gave you a choice opengl or *** (V6 mode or something) perhaps it has been installed sans opengl.
There was a file we use to delete in V6 NT4 the name escapes me now. Can anyone remember?
Just a thought
