No lapdancer here but I did do Jeff's script while I was doing the script for MayDay while I was updating one of my Perl CGI scripts while I was doing another Mastercam VBS script for a client while I was staring blankly at one of my C-Hooks for the HTML Setup Sheet while I was fiddling with our Exchange server while I was keeping an eye on this forum. Oh ya, and I'm chewing gum, too That's 8 paychecks right there Bullines.
What do you do with all the money?
Nothing but respect for you here guys.
Kind regards, Mark

There is only so many things you can do at the same time...
You don't have a lap dancer in there, do you...
Isn't multitasking fun
Man, you guys ARE good...

That is a big problem if a pc burns your sim.
Never even heard of such a thing before
The good news is I don't think you have to buy it. It should be replaced by CNC Software so you must contact your reseller.
I'd stick with USB, because sooner or later pc's won't come with parallel ports, besides it's got this cool light in it
Kind regards, Mark
Metrolosys could propably do what you are asking so give them a call.
Highly recomended by James Mayette which is good enough for me

Do you have any good ideas on a plunge cutte There is plenty around. Try Iscar PLX plunger (6 flutes), will do face milling also. Step over up to .400" and as deep as you are willing to go
On a 2" you can go S2900 and F120.0 or more.
It's a great way to go only on certain parts, so give a local rep a call if you are not sure
Kind regards, Mark
Not sure about the shape of your part, but if possible try using plunger to take the meat out and then finisher...
Just a suggestion
Kind regards, Mark
I'm not sure Tim. Was thinking more along the lines of G81 but there has got to be G1 line in there anyway, so G1 alone would be great also.
Surprised that no one tried it before, seems to be pretty handy to go slower on entance.
No need to adjust rpm.
Appreciate your help

You also need to change G03 to G02 and G02 to G03 Plus need to flipped the sign of the I value.
Post has switches for this CR.
If you trying to use program from different lathe on the one with flipped axis there is VB script on ftp that will do this, courtesy of Roger Martin from CNC Software

But you'll have to prolly use G50's Yes, almost positive about it. Plus gear switching M41 and stuff...
My bad, it is "X" axis that is flipped

I thought I'd have something for you now but it's been a busy day. I will get you a custom drill cycle as soon as I get time. Thank you very much Tim
Where do I sign you up for a reward

vintage Mori Seiki SL-3 CNC Are you kidding me?
This thing may be a bit slow, but will run circles around a lot of newer ones when it comes to tolerance
I know, we've got one on the floor
Regular mplfanuc post should do the trick but be CAREFULL it could have Z axis flipped
Is it 11T control?

i run about 2000 rpm with F4 Way too slow for ticn and better coatings.
For heavy profiling try S2000 and F12.0+, for slotting S1850 and F12.0 but no more than half of dia on axial depth.
I like Hanitas Varimill and Niagra Z-carb..(I think). With those you can run faster and slot full dia on axial depth.
Hope it helps

E4340 steel not the same condition are on the side 303SS.I TRIED USE RPM & FEED on 303.it did not work.thanks What exactly are you having problems with?
If you can dwell on it in a little more detail we should be able to help you better.
There are so many diff. tools available that certain speeds and feeds will not work uniformly across such a wide spectrum...
Give us a little more detail: tools used, holders, setup...

Have you tried this technique and if you have how much more accurate is it? It does help a bit on up to 4xdia. I haven't had a chance to try it on deep holes yet but I believe there is a big advantage of doing it this way.
On a rigid setup: .250 drill, cat-50 holder, command xt precision collet chuck (the whole setup doesn't get much better ) I'm off by up to .0011" location wise in A2 steel (over the range of 200 holes). Using my way seems to get location down to about .0007" at the most.
There are some variables as how close the shank of the drill is to optimal holding range of a collet and so on, but general idea of slowing down on entrance especially on deep holes came to me from a local rep.
Any sugestions?
Thanks Ron, found this link but it's not exactly what I'm looking for (too complicated ).
That just about makes it my longest post
Kind regards, Mark
Hi everyone.
I've been using carbide drills with din holes for a few years now(high pressure coolant),but would like a drill to slow down when it goes into a part and after a certain distance to resume a normal feedrate.
How do you deal with this?
Custom drill cycle, long hand code...?
The reasoning behind this is, I'm trying to get a little better positioning accuracy since I can't use center or spot drill with this kind of drills.
Your help as always is greatly appreciated
It is for Mori SV50 with Fanuc 16 control (MSC 516)

No this is not a parameter feature option. Was just guessing
Another thing, don't you guys hate it when machine builders skimp on the memory like that
Kind regards, Mark
I'm not a Mazak guy, but I think most likely it's a parameter setting.
I bet it has much more memory build in that you can use.
You'd have to talk to Mazak people about it.
If someone gave you this parameter sett. it'd be pretty much as if someone gave you a sim code to upgrade MC level 1 to 3

Could it have been a post processor thing? I seriously doubt it(unless someone who had no idea played with it )
