  1. With the release of X coming should I bother asking the boss to buy the post help book/cd thats out now? Will the post coding change enough so that I should just wait for X to come out? Just curious... my posts are lacking features that should be in there and I need the post book/cd to figure out what these format statements are and to answer other questions I have.
  2. Bump for help. Any ideas on how to format this to just not print out this info? Could I just do a IF *stock > .0001 print out stk on x,y and z?
  3. I know this is an old thread but I have a question about this. Is it possible to turn off the (STK ON X,Y =) (STK ON Z =) If there isnt anything in those fields in the parameters page? Maybe with an IF THEN statement. I dont know what this does: if (opcode=2 | opcode=4) So im not sure how to format the statement to keep it off when I want. Any suggestions? BTW, this IS a keeper. This code is great! Kudos to you Mayday

    Help

betts- The .005 stl toolpath was just the rough pass, I deleted the finish pass in frustration. It had the same paramters though. I may end up trying the 3/16 ball yet, I ended up using the restmill toolpath and tightened the overall tolerance to .0005 (it was .01 default). It looks decent but its still to slow. I wish I had a better way to cut that surface, I still aint to good with this 3d stuff and it drives me nuts.

    Help

I uploaded file gms.mc9 to the mc9 folder on the ftp. This is driving me nuts! I'm trying to cut the corners on the angled surface inside the part. Parrallel is the toolpath I would like to use but it wont cut to the freakin wall! Restmill works, but it takes way to long to do this toolpath. I need some help here, what can I do to cut this surface and blend to the walls?? Even my 3/4 toolpath here is doing crazy things (cuts in 1 spot on top of the part). What am I doing wrong and where can I make this a better toolpath.
  7. We use the Jergens lock system on some of our fixtures here and they work like a champ. Yes we do use the primary and secondary liners and we get excellent repeatability. The only problem we have is folks tend to over-tighten the screws in the top of locks and screws up the threads, or they just completely lose the screws... that makes it real fun to use them. Greg
  8. Man this thread got hijacked I want every feature you listed in your first post Paul, those would make my day.
  9. Did you try Screen->Next Menu->Combine Views?
  10. I use Matweb to get material density then plug it into Analyze-Area/Volume/Solid props.

that works great, is there a way to make it read 3 decimal places only? That would make it more accurate

I have a family of parts to make with hole locations of .001 true position. The cad files the customer sent me is a bit skewed on the locations of holes, they vary from nominal anywhere from .0005 to .00013. I dont want to have to move all these holes to the correct nominal position with translate or analyze there is way to many holes to do this. Is it possible to have the post only recognize the first 2 places after the decimal only for my drilling ops? Or is there a different way for doing this in the drawing itself? Greg
  14. On drill parameters I would set it like this: Clearance = (Something above the part like 1.00) absolute Retract = -3.5 absolute Depth = -3.75 absolute So what this would do is move tool to 1.0 above the part, rapid to -3.5, feed to -3.75 (or .25) Retract to 1.0 above the part then move to the next hole location. Hope this helps Greg
  15. Here be the link to the tech data Minicut
  16. Just got it Toolfab. Thanks a bunch man! Greg
  17. yes toolfab, that would be perfect
  18. Does anyone have a cad drawing of this? I've tried a few log sites i know of and they dont have anything. Did a search and most of the results were for sites you have to pay just to browse. Thanks Greg
  19. Instead of using an M30 at the end, why not try M99. On my fanuc controls if I want it to loop, I put an M0 in the beginning and an M99 at the end. Not sure if this will work with a Haas Greg
  20. No doubt this feature is priceless. This and the extra toolpaths added to circlemill are almost worth the price of admission. No more extra time spent breaking and/or drawing extra geometry!
  21. I wont ever delete that info. Very good description!
  22. http://www.matweb.com/index.asp?ckck=1 Ive been using this site to get my material density figures. The numbers given on the site plug right into Mastercam. Greg
  23. I just did this very thing Opened up Paint Shop Pro. Select Screen Capture. Auto pastes into Paint Shop, save as .jpeg Wish I could just save it straight from Mastercam. Greg
  24. quote: Well May^Day the way my post is set up I get multi R planes as well as multi Z depths when using the edit depths for the drillingMan.... how on earth did you accomplish this? This is one of my biggest peeves with this software. I do alot of programming where I only have a 2d drawing and I have to use the 'Edit Depth' feature to get the depths I want. Problem is there is no option to make the feed plane go where I want until after I post the code and manually edit the R plane in. We need an option under the 'Point Edit' menu to allow us to change the feed plane as well as the depth. Greg
  25. arcoutput : 0 #0 = IJK, 1 = R no sign, 2 = R signed neg. over 180 I had problems with overcutting my arcs when I used R instead of IJK on our Fanucs. I use overlap in circle mill all the time and the R values were throwing the control into fits trying to give me a 'best fit' arc. I would change this back to ijk for sure. Greg
