  1. played alot of mjwin. next week there probably wont be enough hours in a day to finish what they need (you have to love just in time schedualing and delivery). but for this week mjwin. I am so bored.
  2. I got the guys name hopefully he will remember what he had to do. If not when he comes back i hope they let me come in on dayshift
  3. Tony, I tried kicking the machine that didn't even help. My dad always said "if all else fails a good swift kick sould fix it" I am sure it's some little thing but i've never had 1 stump me like this.
  4. Phil I could be wrong but if I remember corectly stock flip didn't come out til V9
  5. well the : didn't work either i guess it's time to call in mori. Thanks for all the suggestions
  6. hummm, I've seen that on other machines but didn't think about it. Thanks for the thought Bucket I'll try it tonight
  7. Thanks for the replys, I tried hooking up our old greco box to the machine and had the same problem. I than took the greco to our other mori lathe and was able to load programs with no problem. I double checked the prameters in both machines and they are the same. I am wondering if the problem with the new machine is it has a conversational control on it. I don't know why that would make a differance but i am stumped. The control on the new machine is a fanuc MSG501
  8. Rekd, the CR/LF's are there that is 1 of the things i tried changing. CNCme, I emailed you a copy of the program I have been trying to send to the machine. I would of put it on the FTP site but for some reason I havn't been able to access it for about a month. Thanx again
  9. I am not sure if this is going to sound right but i'll try. We have a new mori lathe with a conversational control on it. we got the communications working but no one bothered to save any programs back. After the memery got full I went to help them organize there files and had no problem saving programs back to the PC. The problem is when trying to send a program back to the machine it only reads the first line of the program. I tried changing all kinds of settings and nothing worked After talking to the dayshift operator i found out that mori has been in twice to fix this and got it working both time but he dont know what they did if i try loading 2 programs at 1 time by putting them together i can see that it is looking through the program but is just loading the 1st line of the 1st program. I can't even run the machine in tape mode. Sorry this has been so long i'm just want to make sure i am explaining everything. btw we are using cimnet dnc software. thank in advance.
  10. quote: Bertuzzi should be spending time in jail for this. I doubt it will go that far but I actually agree with the radio for a change. On a local morning show they were suggesting the penalty for somthing like this is the offender should have to sit out as long as the other person can't play because of there injury.
  11. Chris, I have not had any problems changing geo. and regen in this method. The only time I have seen crazy things happen is when I alow stock flip to flip my geo. Thats why i started changing levels and fliping the geo. myself. I hope that makes sence. If not let me know and i will try to email you a file.
  12. thats why i quit using offset levels and just started copying levels manually. than i mirror the stock on the 2nd level and do stock flip then
  13. watermaker, What I do with a 2 different ops on a part is use 2 different levels. 1st end on level 1, than stock flip and level 2. It took a little to get used to but that way there is only 1 file per part. hth
  14. I like to use the wnmg inserts also for turning and boring. For drilling we use Waukesha drills. You can get them up to 5x the dia. and last forever. We drill 4140 at 600sfm .006 ipr and in my opinion that’s a little slow but the operators get nervous if I go any faster. hth
  15. 9167 rpm's now thats spinning. what I was always told was you could cut up to 70 percent of the ic plane of the insert. hth
  16. Thanks for the replys. James sitting on the can reading the paper is training for diesinkers around here. If you make it a 1/2 hour without your legs falling asleep you get the promotion.
  17. As I have said before on this forum I work in a Union shop and the problem I have is the people on the floor don't want cycle times on the set-up sheets. I am using lathe.set is there a way of getting rid of this. We sure don't want to be held accountable for what we are not doing do we. Sure glad I have no say so over these people
  18. I have to say I wouldn't have many on my post count. The ot are fun to read i dont think the count really matters. just my .02 worth
  19. Millman Thats 2 things in 1 night i've learned from you. I always used different groups but didn't know you could post 2 programs at 1 time by saving the nci file. Thanks again for sharing
  20. Thanks Millman After reading your reply it does make sence that should work. learned somthing new once again lol
  21. I dont want to sound stupid but i never heard of peck tapping on a cnc. You dont actually retract the tap all the way out of the hole do you? And if you do isnt there a chance of (for a lack of better words) cross threading the part?
