  1. quote: I have reduced the tool length and increased the tool holder diameter If you are using V9,changing the tool holder params in the tool parameter page will have no effect in verify. I believe you will have to change the geometry of the tool in the main directory of mastercam. The holder.mc9 file. Not sure how it will work in X
  2. Steve,he is a student studyin mastercam. Exedus, nothing good is for free.I can't tell you how much $$ I have spent on items to learn this software.
  3. Nope....you must leave at once,do not collect $200.00 for passing go,go directly to jail! J/k Welcome to the forum
  4. Jay thanks for the heads up. Happy birthday bro. I'm older than you?? BTW,I know this is old news, but who won the shirt u raffled off??
  5. Thats what is great about using the solids. You can 'supress' all your other features in the solid, write the stl file for verify and now you will see the features being machined. I used to do it like DavidB is talking about befor I had the solids add on.
  6. Now I understand what you are asking for. Yes,this would be a nice feature to have,as soon as you pick that machine definition, the planes change with it.
  7. Also,at the bottom of the screen click on plane button, you can choose lathe diameter or lathe radius
  8. What post are you using for indexing? I use the mpmaster and have no troubles. I can try your file with it if you want.
  9. Thanks for your valuable information.
  10. Trim divide in X is much like trimming in Autocad but better. This will be my most used trimming tool almost could use it exclusively except for geometry that is not closed. Funny how Mr Randle XX ran outta this thread with only his diaper on!
  11. yea, what mark said! I have had a couple of issues, addressed them to the proper people, and they are on it. You have to get past the frustration of knowing what you want to do and not actually able to do it. As for me,I am just using it right now for my own personal beta testing.....
  12. I did and as i stated had some problems too. good to hear it will be fixed
  13. i will give it a try and report back Mine is doing some funny crashing, not sure what it is,i dont have a lot of time to play with it right now. [ 08-31-2005, 10:26 AM: Message edited by: Brendan P ]
  14. quote: Boss loves this guy always on time always working Better known as "Blowers"
  15. The only crash i have gotten so far is when i was inporting a directory.
  16. All of our guys are Sr. guys...they been there for 20 yrs. They all hate the place, but will never leave. Thing is,my company is really a good place to work for,my only gripe is that they are waaaayyyy to lienient. My company is the only company in the world that you can come in and not do a f/n thing all day and still have a job!!!
  17. Carlos, when I took my sim home to 'play',i also had this problem with hasp not found and it was just not plugged in the back of my parrallel port very good....
  18. Roy23 You can also hit the Alt key, then this will place an underscore on your create, solids, xform ect... functions at the top. Now you can hit C for create,L for line,E for endpoint and create your geometry...
  19. My boss is just too nice of a guy and he wont hire a pr!ck to run the show! I then suggested to him to run the shop like the show survivor. Each month the employees vote on who aint pulling their weight, and the one with the most tally's goes in front of the chopping block. He will have a month to straighten out or will be gone. This would build teamwork and they will now all work together. My boss loved the idea, but he will neva have the balls to actually implement it.
  20. quote: i think eveyone should be made to follow simple rules . i think it sends a bad message when the same guys come in late every day 5-15 min. also i dont like walking out on the floor and seeing guys standing behind their machines on the cell phones or going over a job and they get a call and stop whatever they are doing to answer it. but our shop lets all this go on. I agree, but come to my shop, they don't do nothing if you show up late, guys reading magazines at their machines, guys shooting the sh!T,guys on cellphones, guys making junk, guys not following process sheets, guys smoking in a supposedly smoke free shop, guys washing up early, guys strolling around in the office.... It make me sick! period. I have just learned to swallow it cause upper management wont do a thing.... As usual, the 'wouldn't wanna offend anybody B/S policy'
  21. Thanks Steve, No,I am using an nvidia 5900 Maybe you can try the Sp1 and see if it works for you guys....
  22. Can you still erase/chain function in X?
  23. I heared within a month or two
  24. I think you should load it and get the feel for how it works. Just dont be foolish and expect to be able to start drawing and writing toolpathe the first day....
