This subject has been adressed before, so I did a search but found nothing. When I open a file, all the layers are visible. I dont want this, and upto last week this was working fine. Somebody has played with my putter, and now all layers are visible on start up. Where in settings must I change this.. Thanks all

Redfire427 If you install X+ there is a chain selection option where you can select chains like you normaly would in mastercam, then, perform your xform. Cant live without this function now..

What about right clicking your QM icons for Lines Curves and Splines. Then it will "only" select Curves Lines and Splines. Or turn off shading...

Under text, press the true type option. they should be listed right at the top of the list. The fonts start "1 cambam" ETC

When you create your layout, you can delete the top view, and insert your WCS view. Save layout as favorite, if this is how you allways work..

You could allways just use Windows explorer, with icons set to large, and you get the preview picture of all your mastercam files. Think this was part of the aiutility install. Couldn't be without it now..

Our company is looking at one of their grinding machines. Should be ordering by the end of 2012. We are also looking at the best way to program the machine I.E software.. Are you happy with the machine ?

Brian How large are your programs? On average our nc files are about 20mb, with a couple going upto 200mb. Mastercam verify is soooooo slow with these large files.

go with Roger on this one. We dont filter the toolpath at all with mastercam, we let the roeders do all the smoothing work. The dynamic settings on the roeders with 4.2 software is the best.

[ There is a readme file in the documents telling what they have fixed in X6 MU2. It also says that X7 will only work in Win7 and Win8. ] If this realy is the case, then we will have to give up our maintenence. We will not be investing in hundreds of new computers, just for mastercam to work. That would be a great shame.

Thanks all. where should the holder file be saved. All my tool holder load properly, I think it might just be the standard holder that is in the wrong place.

We keep this alarm, now that we have installed MX6. Not causing problem, but getting very annoying.

It's still there, mines on the right side of the screen under the mask settings. I have set it up under right-mouse selection. Hope this helps

Tried loads of suggestions but nothing seems to work. Still allways comes in as a cube. Not the end off the world, but annoying. Thanks for all the suggestions throughout the forum. Now trying in mcamX6.

Mcam X5 Most of our elektrodes are made from round bar, so it would be nice to have this working properly. It could just be me not doing something right. What i do. Start a new file, then load the machine def in. When I look up the stock setup, it allways comes in as a square block. I have tried to change the default file for stock. I have changed the machine default file to what I want. I have even sworn at the computer, but it just will not come in as I define it. Ones I have set it in a file then it will stick for that file. It is something with the default file. Files save Local, full admin rights, not write protected. Anyone able to explain what I might be doing wrong ?

Change the poll, as you have added a list of other simulators I cant vote, as we only use the mastercam simulator. Just to check if tool will fit.

i can send you my roaders config, and machine file if you want to have a look. I dont what post you are using so they might not be of any use to you, but you can at least compare them. Which model roaders are you using?
