  1. We used to use this path a lot in x6. It just doesn't seem to work in X8. I will try to explain. We manufacture electrodes, which are generaly from a cylinder of copper. we rough out the outside form with the 2d dynmaic core mill, and this workedd perfectly for us before x8. Now when we select the outer form and use the stock model the path just cuts all the way to the middle, completely destroying our electrode.. I have watched the demo video of this function, but it just does a plane mill spiral type operation. anyone else having problems with this new cycle?
  2. can you assign a macro to the context menu. That way you can have 2 icons, 1 for QM all and 1 for QM only.
  3. yep crashes everytime. On the bottom bar, press gview, then WKS then Planes, and open the planes mangler. Hey presto....crash. I dont use the plane mangler so I should be okay.. Cheers for the headup.
  4. set your clearance to 4inch, then feed plane as normal, that should do it..
  5. my 2c. I would put them after all the machine initialisation codes. Add block skip to the mcode, maybe that will keep the poor fella happy. I would, personaly, allways have the chip conveyor running.
  6. Thanks, it works a treat.
  7. Is this addon available for mastercam x6, and if so, where can I download it.. Thanks

    Lathe WCS X6

It's just not sticking. Open my control file and it's set up right.. Open my machine manager and that is also setup right, but everytime I start a new file it all reverts back to TOP.. Thanks
  9. We have just purchased a lathe licence to add to several seats of Mill, and I have a little problem with WCS in the stock setup section. When I start a lathe program the stock setup and safety zone both come in set as TOP. I would like them both to come in as LATHE Z = WORLD Z. What do I need to adjust to get this to work. I have set it in my control file, and when I open that, it is set correctly. When I start a program sesion it always comes in set as TOP. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
  10. Okay, thanks for looking. I found my old list from V9.
  11. Is there a document with all the Post Procesor commands. I need to change something in a lathe post, so that all letters come out as lowercase in the program. Thanks in advance
  12. Still on X6 here, but had the same alarms here, only yesterday. Sorry cant help with a solution. I had to delete the op then reselect all.
  13. You could place the tool library on the network, then all workers acces and edit the same library. make a backup first
  14. You have no chain to select. It is a solid. Use solid selection to chain it. Or draw new chain around the solid.
  15. I thought V7 wouldn't even load on anything less than win7.
  16. First export your operations. Then when you open a new model you just have to import the operation, and select the part.
  17. NOTW the holder should be in "my mcamx6/mill/tools" folder
  18. I registered I got the email, I set an alarm on my iPhone, and I still managed to miss it.. Ironicly programming a complex 5-axis part.
  19. Under config settings, then screen, then viewsheets, then Automatic restore bookmark settings. Turn this off, and all my problems solved..
  20. Still no joy with all of the above sugestions. This is realy getting on my nerves now. Think I can feel an urge to stick a hammer through the screen. I know it wont help, but I would feel better. Only seems to effect older files.
  21. If you change your gap settings, that should keep the tool more in contact with the material. Less up and downs. Or better still, the Hispeed waterline toolpath..
