  1. I would also like to know, I need to remove all of the G91G28Z0. and make it G00G90G53Z(machine at top of travel).
  2. You change the coolant and clean the tank when you can't take it anymore. A nice cheese clothe filter on the coolant drains makes life easy. Running high volumes, I will not cut it dry and breathe it in. High chip-load, low surface footage, making a chip, it goes pretty easy. Besides the mess. Still better than straight fiber glass.
  3. A machine with a coolant tank that is easy to clean.
  4. For the right type of work, once you set up FBM drill, its quite handy. I would always delete the parent FBM drill operation, otherwise it wouldn't let me sort each tool path individually, this was in X8.
  5. Start menu --> All programs --> Mastercam X8/9 --> Utilities --> Advanced config --> Backplot --> enable classic backplot
  6. What draw your entry line and plunge with the 3d contour? You cant ramp, which is what I imagined what was being suggested.
  7. OP was asking about the dovetail cutter tool path, which you can not use a 3d countour on. The endmill to rough or finish the slot sure, but not the dovetail.
  8. No I stagger my depth cuts to finish the slot with the endmill if the endmill diameter wasn't in the middle of the +/- .001 width. Most of the time I would get the proper sized endmill and if running true it might cut a few tenths bigger than nominal with taking a full diameter cut. Neck dimensions yes, but angle profile and bottom width were always well within. The neck and depth were the only things tied up +/- .001.
  9. I honestly have never machined undersized and then climb both sides, too slow, just right down the center to the correct depth. Very shiny, easily a 32 and good luck measuring the surface finish. I would rough the groove width to the right size with an endmill and leave .001/.002 on the floor for the dovetail tool to finish the bottom and have no mismatch. Chaining can be done a few different ways, depending if the groove exits the wall.
  10. Running the exact setup, make sure in your nvidia settings you have Mastercam called out and its using the "high performance" mode.
  11. Put the HLE on another pc and tell them to kick rocks.
  12. That would make sense, but its off. I am thinking it might be my graphics card, considering it is an on board video card. But, I haven't noticed any other problems with it thus far and I have been using this small laptop in the field for about a month.
  13. I know there has to be some setting in verify to keep the part after I part it off. I am missing it somewhere....
  14. Why not just move your wire frame/modify your model. I would always add a note on the level added XX to this feature. I hate making an educated guesses with things like weld shrinkage and elaborate plantings.
  15. I copy all three files and rename them in the correct folders. Then when I open the "renamed" version in Mastercam, I go back and check the machine def and control def to make sure they match the original. I have had the control def revert back to the defaults, Colin did a nice write up on saving changes to the control def default. Then go back and change all labels in the three files to the new machine and make any other adjustments that are new machine specific. Maybe an easier way, but that's the way I have done it. edit, pretty much all the machines I have done posts on used slightly different machine/control definitions, so they could not be shared.
  16. I would try creating an intermediate Pmesh and stock model from that, if you get the time.
  17. Did a quick run through of the posts, but are you running in 5 axis simulation and not 3 axis in verify? Even doing simple 3 axis parts I would run in 5 axis sim in verify, it just yields better results.
