  1. Mine works now that I added it to my toolbar with the icon or Alt-C.
  2. OK Lee, are you using Alt-c to get to the C-hook or did you load the C-hook onto your toolbar? Mine works fine if I load it onto my toolbar and run it but not if I use Alt-C to load it.
  3. I tried rebooting and it still locks up on mine.
  4. When I do contract programming I get $45 and all I do is mostly 2D router programming. I also setup machine and prove out programs as well. Sitting in a speaker mfg. right now waiting on the owner to hand me his speaker design so I can program it.
  5. We had one of our Router customers weld a gear on the end of the Y ball screw and rig up a chain drive to control the rotation using the Y axis to cut turnings on their router. Weird looking setup to say the least.
  6. I run Onsrud 63-725 O flute and a straight flute I don't remember the number of at 200-300ipm in 3/4" yellow pine plywood all the time. I would try a brand new collet. If the first tool broke left a burr on the id of the collet, every carbide tool you put in it will break.
  7. Thanks to all who make this place great!!! Thanks to In-House and Dave for providing it!!!
  8. My 18i controls use #3901 to set the counter & I chose to use Variable #104 to load the counter. I have this at start of program #104=#3901 N2 G20 N4 G0 G17 G90 G40 G49 G80 G90 I use this code at end of program #104=#104+1 N600 G94 G04 X.5 #3901=#104 N602 M00 /GOTO10 N604 M20 N606 M5 #104=#104-1 #3901=#104 N608 M30 The purpose is so that it counts while it is in the loop but when you skip the loop and go to the M30, it will add 1 to the counter when it reads the M30 so I subtract 1 before that so the count stays correct.
  9. There is a format routine on the control that sometimes I have had to use. I don't have my Fanuc manual with me today or I would look it up for you. The format works fine on your PC and I don't know what the difference is between it's format and formatting on your PC. I have had some memory cards that wanted the on control format to read dependably. It could be a loose card adapter as well since the program loaded before you got the error.
  10. When offsetting the contour it falls to pieces graphically. That would be my first option if it had worked.
  11. I have a leaf pattern to cut out of 1/8" brass and the areas between the leaves are too small for my cutter. I have made several mods but still can only get a 1/32" cutter in the smaller areas. I need to use a 1/8" cutter to make any money on the job but need to see what it will look like if a 1/8" cutter goes into the small areas. Is there a way short of turning tool comp off to force mastercam to use a tool too large for a pocket to cut it anyway?
  12. Logitech MX Revolution wireless & couldn't live without it. Got fit and escape programmed to the 2 buttons on teh side. Very comfortable mouse. My battery lasts all week and then some. Usually put it in the cradle to charge on Friday afternoon. Will get a full charge in less than an hour or so. Every microsoft cordless product I ever owned ate batteries like a fat gal eating cookies!!!
  13. It was stuck on a post that is not correct. Took forever and 2 reinstalls to get it to turn it loose!!!
  14. You are correct in your observation Kannon. But what is causing it to show up on every line of my posted programs...even on the blank lines.
  15. Boss just upgraded to latest MR2 SP1 and a file I was working on for him now has this symbol € after every line including %line at the beginning. I moved it back to my pc and it is still there so it is in the file somewhere.
  16. It is starting above the part because your Z clearance is set to 1.0 in the pocket parameters. At 30 IPM you are rubbing the tool and burning. You have to cut that stuff or you can start a fire. I ramp and cut at 300IPM with a .25 bit in press board @ 24000RPM. If I am plunging or doing a helix entry usually about 150IPM on plunge and then 300IPM feed. I also normally use a 30 deg ramp angle on wood & press board. A 3 deg angle takes forever.
  17. Well Duh me. I never use this so I had to go looking for it. I use the axis grid at 0,0 on my setup. I changed the boss's now so it is like mine since he wants me to start teaching him some 3d stuff.
  18. My boss has these brown lines turned on that show the axes but they interfere with doing things in front/side view when you have lines at zero and need to attach to them in views other than top. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn them off and neither can he.
  19. I thought there was a setting in Windows that will force file extensions to caps or lowercase but I cannot find it.
  20. Cut on a Standard Router I might add!! Only 2 twin tables we ever built.
  21. Searching online says i/o parameter should be 0. Not sure if that is correct. Interesting info here http://www.machinetoolhelp.com/Application...unications.html
  22. card works great for us. I bought several Sandisk pcmia adapters that use cheap compact flash cards. Bought a tub of the 32 meg CF Type II on ebay dirt cheap. I run ethernet to all 3 of my machines but at times it goes down I can always pull out some memory cards. The I/O setting for Ethernet is 9. Never used RS232 on Fanuc18i before.
  23. Each manufacturer configures the Fanuc buttons to their design. None of our 18i have a drip feed button but if you change the I/O parameter it will DNC. Don't have my manuals at home. Do you have RS232 or ethernet?
  24. I use and Onsrud Oflute that sort of leads the point instead of being a flat bottomed bit. They have several bits that are made for aluminum.. I have been using a little Boelube paste for engraving aluminum but then nothing for cutting but the bits are made for High speed routing of aluminum.
