  1. That is not a bad idea, having a whiteboard on the machine.
  2. I am playing with the thought in my head, if I should forget about keeping track of how many parts "pallet 9, face 3" made(sorry guy's ) , and instead using variables #600 and up for part numbers, so I am actually keeping track of how many parts I am making (that is what really counts). #600(Part 465-1564-223) #601(Part 465-1564-224) #602(Part 589-2224-997) And then I was thinking that I could use the Work offsets G54P1 and up, for parts needed on each side of the tombstones, and use #7000s to implement those numbers in a macro that keep track so when 144pcs are made by the specific NC program a macro checks that parts #600's varibel against the G54P's and the operator gets a warning that specific part number is done, and the macro could zero out the #600's variable. What I think I like about this idea is, that the Cell controller will let me rearrange jobs as the machine is running, and so will the G54P's. And I do not really like the operators or setup guy to mess to much around in the variable page. Have not really thought this through yet, not sure what is good or bad in that idea. Any comments or suggestions would be highly appreciated Thanks
  3. yahh, thanks alot for having me sitting here ate the screen drooling
  4. Jim, No I wish, the PC11 do not come with its stand alone cell controller, it is build into the "Handy-man" screen right on the machine control. I have been told by Methods that the only way to do what I am doing is with variables.
  5. specv, Good idea, seems like my options are getting better and better. iowajim62, No it kinda suck, it can count 1 palletchange, using M259, but I want to count parts made. I got programs where one pallet makes 4 parts, and I have pallets where side 180 makes 8 parts. I want some way to count the number of parts made, not how many pallet changes the machine have made on each tombstone doing the last 24 hours.
  6. Now Tim that is what I call thinking outside the box I think I like that Idea, thank you
  7. quote: you can't DPRINT back to the control. yeah I figured that out last night reading the manual. Thanks for taking a look at this James, I appreciate it. I will try to setup some system with cross reference. Lars
  8. I got a 11 pallet Matsuura, and I want to be able to count parts on each side of the 11 tombstones. The machine it self have 9 counters build in, but I need 44. according to the machine distributor this can only be done by using macros, what is fine with me, but I do not want to stand with a sheet of paper every morning trying to figure out if #513 is equal "Pallet 3 side 4". Right now I am thinking that it might be possible to DPRNT to another program, that I then can open up in "BGEDIT" and see something like this: #513=65 (Parts on Pallet 3 Side 4) Wondering if anyone has a better idea, or a comment to my idea. Thanks Lars
  9. Hmm, sounds very interesting, we are going strongly in the direction of upgrading to X2, and I have a feeling that I have to upgrade my graphics cards when that happens, so.....maybe Thanks guys/
  10. Cadcam, Stupid question..........the dual monitors.....how are you using them to gain advantage over single monitor, I guess I think it looks really cool, but I can not see how the heck it improves anything. Thanks Lars
  11. roeboat, I am sorry I need to fly, but a couple of months ago I had issues with my Haas post, after I had gotten my probe senario figured out, it was pretty easy to apply it to the G05, let me know if this helps you out, if not I will be ready and back at it Monday Link
  12. edmbosto, is right on. Copper tungsten is the way to go, and you want to reverse polarity.
  13. Seems to me like this is the line you have to change in the post code: one_rev : 1 #Limit rotary indexing between 0 and 360? (0 = No, 1 = Yes) HTH
  14. On our Matsuura with Fanuc control, the thru coolant is turned of with M09, and "air thru spindel" is turn on and off with M52 and M53. So what I did was setting a sub program that I can call with a M code, in my case I choosed M54, with sub program O9023. My post section: code: fstrsel sm04 spdir2 spindle # -------------------------------------------------------------------------- # Coolant M code selection sm09 M09 #Coolant Off (Use sm09_0 through sm09_2) sm08 M08 #Coolant Flood sm08_1 M07 #Coolant Mist sm08_2 M50 #Coolant Tool sm09_0 M09 #Coolant Flood Off sm09_1 M09 #Coolant Mist Off sm09_2 M54 #Coolant Tool Off scoolant #Target for string fstrsel sm09 coolant scoolant And my sub: code: % O9023 M09 M52 G04 X2. M53 M99 HTH
  15. Welcome to the forum, you are going to find this place very helpful if you are new to Mastercam, try the search function for any Mastercam or machine related question, there are so much good information here.
  16. Alright the poll is closed I verily appreciate all your comments, you guys have been a great help. 146 votes in 24 hours to me is just amazing, again you guys have proved what a awesome place this is. 146 beers sounds expensive, but if you guys are in the area I own you one. Lars
  17. Lee, Do you find maintenance to expensive compare what you got for it, or compared to other CAD/CAM software, if you know what I mean?
  18. Terry, Yeah he is going to be pretty tired of my questions pretty quick, will try to squeeze his cell phone number out of him, so I can call him 24/7 beej, That is a very good point, I will defiantly make sure that is taken into consideration. Kannon, Thank you for the mail, defiantly very useful information, and congratulation on the X2 wagon.
  19. I verily appreciate you guy's taking the time to do this, this is awesome. I made the pole for a 24 hour time period just to have some specific time period to present, then I will print out the comments and vote result and present it. Again thank you so much for your votes and comments. Please if you have not voted or comments it would be appreciated. Kannon, when is your presentation due, or have it already happened?
  20. Alright we are running V8.1.1, but the owner have opened the door and got a quote to upgrade to X2, but he is skeptic. I have spend hours today re-reading old topics here for people asking this question and watched videos on mastercam.com, but I still feel like I am missing the bullet. I was hoping that a simpel print out of a poll of users given there opinion would be more powerfull and direct than a bunch of "over the head flying" arguments. I know some might be a little tired of this hole issue, and I personally are convinced that a upgrade is necessary, but I got to try to convince someone who is not a user and do not put as much weight on sketch function as to $ If you take the time to vote I would verily appreciate it, thank you. Lars
  21. M34 and M35 will make it possible for you to change your position in a program.
