  1. That was what my reseller did
  2. Thanks guy's I will dick into to this sometimes this week, maybe when I get to read up on that 400 pdf there comes with X2
  3. LOL, Thad this was a argument I had with myself a long time ago, I came to the conclusion that I did not wanted to do that. Maybe it depends what kind of work or shop you are in, maybe it doesn't and my conclusion is wrong, I would be happy to reopen the debate. Our shop is a production shop, we got about 100 different parts that most of them can cross from machine to machine, so the idea about setting our 2 horizontals up with same tools did cross my mind. Here is a example why I do not want to do that(as I said please let me know if I have lost it). I got a Horizontal machining center that I have some warranty work done to (leaking hydraulics fluid), the repair guy decides to ignore my warnings and ends up crashing tool pocket 6 and 7. My quick fix that night was to move tool 6 that I need for production to T116 but keep H6 in the programs it was going to run that night. Now ofcourse I am going to get T6 and T7 fixed at some point right?, well what do you do in the meantime? move T6 on the other machine to T116 and changes those programs? or do you dare that the night supervisior or operators can manage in there head that until #1 machine is getting fixed, things are not the same? Hmm what happens when you get hit by a bus, and the boss comes running out and demands that the operator sets up this programs you ran last year in machine #1. Point is that we all know that if you tell people that "these two machines has identical tooling", people would never even think that there could be a chance that it could not be the case. In regards to my machine, they actually had to chance a 30 pcs. toolrack to fix T6 and T7, so I worked a deal out with them, that I will eliminated T6 and T7 but upgrade my machine from 120 tools to 148 for a very small price. So I guess that I can not make my 2 horizontals identical anyways, because the other one can not go over 120 tools, and also now I need 2 of my production tools in pocket 149 and 150 because of clearances from that specific machine. what happens when you forgot to order a through coolant drill for inventory and now you have to replace T36 in machine #2 with a HSS drill? tattoo peoples foreheads? I do not know my friend Let me have it, please
  4. Should have been a piece of yellow paper when you received your Sim from CNC Software stating that you will obtain the update code from your reseller.
  5. I am against making both machine identical, you are taking any flexibility out of the picture, suddenly you have to run a strict ship, where failure is waiting around the corner. You can not make one adjustment without making it to the other one. I think that it is a luxury problem you have Thad, I would suggest that you take 3 weeks paid vacation on the spot, when you come back everything will be on fire , and your problem will be gone, because the machines are waiting for you. Just my 2 cent
  6. I am just starting the same process, from 8 to X2. John without going into detail could you open the door for what coding and such, you are talking about?. I have only done 1 test posting with my 8 post in X2, the only issue it seems I have is that all my manual entries are gone. I have not tried to solve the problem yet.
  7. I think I am with John on this one Mark, lets wait until we know what this product contains. this can quickly turn into throwing gas on a fire that dont even is going yet.
  8. kazmir44, Can not give you anything specific, but I ran this poll a couple of months ago, I printed it out and told the boss to take a look at it, and now I got 3 seats of X2, maybe you can use it for something. click
  9. Thank you guy's, Yeahh Kannon what is going on with you and X2?
  10. I am happy to say that I just finished installing X2 on my computer. The Poll and your comments was a major decision maker for the owner to move on with the upgrade. Thank you all
  11. metalmilita, Sorry I did not response sooner, there should be a section in your manual there cover the G10 function. As of explaining it here on the forum, you would be much better of if Crazy Millman or CNC Apps Guy would explain it than me
  12. Thanks Ron, you are right I am not using WCS to machine the different sides, C and T plane is the way to go. Thank you Lars
  13. Dont have any examples to share, but the skinny is this. draw everything up in Mastercam such as your tombstone, fixtures, travel distance, all your tools with you tool holder and spindle as a custom tool, so you can verify clearances. You will be using WCS to program the different sides of the tombstone. Side 0(side view) Side 90 (view#3) Side 180 (view#6) Side 270 (front view) If you are going to use it for production I would recommends placing G54 at the center of your pallet and programing in G90 mode, then if you got everything drawend up correct Mastercam will take care of everything else. If you are going to use the machine in a job shop inveriment you might find it easier having workoffsets placed on each side G54 G55 etc. you can get fancy and use G10 (Fanuc)in your program to dedicate the workoffsets. HTH Lars
  14. Tim, It is a long time since I messed around with our wire post, I think is should be somewhere in the fmt's but not sure. If you want to email it to me I will try to take a look over the weekend, no promises on a fix though Lars
  15. I did some testing with the verius types of ultrasonic cleaners some years back, and I found that adding a little toilet bowl cleaner with the water works just as fine, thats what we use for ours
  16. Sorry can? Pete I posted in the developers forum that i might would get help quicker here
