  1. Well dont use the lathe part of Mastercam so glad you guys that do helped out on that one. I just added this one to my growing Mastercam Book cool tips from all of you. I appericate it even though I am not the one that needed it. That is what I like about this place good ideas from some smart people. 2. Ok murlin I will thorw this out there. If you do have the feed rates on every line does not require the controller to take a milsec to read everyone on them. Where as if you are usingthe machine controller to do the acel/decl you are keeping less code out of the program for it to process. So if you are stcuk like most of us doing drip feed on program like the one I am fixing to run that had 800,000 lines of code how would that feed rate on every line effect the controllers processor speed as well as the ability to drip feed the machine at the rate needed to not meomery starve the machine. Probaly way of the mark as always but just a thought. Crazy Millman
  3. Yeah May^Day I know what you mean helps to vent sometimes. I get that you do what. Do you have to get your hands dirty. Guess what people a little soap and it washes off. I just laugh when people have that type off idea about what we do. I personally spent over $40,000 in tools over the years. I have my own Starrett grade A Surface plate, Height Gauge, Precision Gauge Blocks, Anvil Thread Micrometers to 4 in, and veriners up to 18", Starrett inside and outside Micrometers to 12". You think most people appericate that hell no. My reponse to most people wanting to even touch my tools is only if you want to lose a finger or 2 or 3. If it soemone I trust then if you break it your bought it. Vent on brother vent on. Crazy Millman [ 08-28-2003, 10:18 AM: Message edited by: Millman^crazy ]
  4. Appericate the thought Rekd had that Crown & Coke last night and rembemer why I don't any more. Made my stomach all kinda of crazy and keep my up almost all night. Oh well the the day got better though. Well Rekd seem like you have people there who knew that need to do that to make you happy and keeping you happy keep things good. If I was in your shoes would be doing the same thing but tired of making other people rich off my abilites you know what I mean. I don't want to go open my own shop, but if I got more than the paycheck out of it I wouldn't mind taking time away from the family to know I am making something for them down the road. Them brass eggs has always been something I am known for. Big balls Mcgraw is one it get called alot. I say what is needed to be if I feel it is the right thing to say, but if I am wrong I am the frist one willing to say it also. Well good luck this weekend and hope you alteast get to spend some time with your kids and wife. I dont know about you but mine always come up to my work and bring me lunch when I do the holiday and saturday thing. Crazy Millman [ 08-28-2003, 01:31 AM: Message edited by: Millman^crazy ]
  5. Well Charles I got 1 gig or Memory on my XP at home and wish I had more for doing the big files we have. I got 1 gig at work using WIN2K also and it does good I think 512mb should be like the low call for doing complex 3d stuff just my thoughts. 6. Well mick I am glad you explained that but how do we get what you said out of this: quote: help required to generate toolpaths for "hybrid" roughing path...... need some sample files that does the job... thanks I am glad you were able to help him and if they go look at the Mitsibushi CNMG432 or WNMG432 inserts. Cant rmemeber the grade but they may find that in stainless they might allow them to get the survial they are looking for in this application. That is a very cool thing to be able to do. I have sat here thinking about the Okuma, Haas, Mori, Hyundia, and Mazak Lathes I have ran and dont remember any of them having that as a can cycles or something like that. I have wrote the long code to do things like that but yeah you are right a real pian in the rear. Crazy Millman
  7. Ok so lets throw this out there. If you only do one thing and only learn one thing how can you be good at other things. When I was getting my journeyman training which in itself was a joke I was in there with some guys from a company that had never seen a conventional lathe or mill were never going to run a CNC Lathe or Mill but yet after going to the classes were going to be journeyman machinist. I think one guy was a carpenter before going to he class the comapny was asking him to do. It was good to get very basic stuff but I had to correct the Math teachers they hired and show the person they had teaching the blueprint reading class how to read blue prints. It is strange that you dont get the hands on training you use to get in this trade. I have this idea that I live by. If you dont go and and get what you need and want out of life it will not be given to you. If you are not willing to push and pull to get what you should it will never be given to you by anyone. I have yet to see a owner go up to an employee in the shops I have worked in and say you have done a great job appericate you going out of your way to help the company staying on your own time and learning things and buying your own tools to do your job working very hard. Here is a good raise to help you and your family. I have been on boths sides of the shoe being that employee and the guy having to run a shop. I hired a guy at one place and was promised he would get a raise after 30 days the owner then changed his mind felt like he couldn't afford to so I out of my pocket gave him his raise till he was hired permanet and given what he was supoose be getting. I know people take advatange of situtions and I know there are people out there that dont give a flying whatever, but there are still people out there and see alot of them on here that got good work ethics, morals, say what they mean, and then do what they say they will. I guess when you come from a place where noone thinks what you do is good enough you learn how to make it good enough. The doctor has his place and so does the lawyer, but one thing most people dont realzie is without craftsman like ourselves to make the things the world needs the doctors couldn't do the surgey to saves lives and the lawyers would not have what they need to such as the clothes on their back, the car they drive, the building they do work in, and etc.. I am not trying to say we are better than other people by what we do only trying to say worth is worth it is all how you stack it and if you need to find it you find it and you are happy with what you got then noone should say if it wrong or right just the way life is and up to us all to see things not only from our shoes but from others shoes also. 8. Well there are several way to do it. You can get a Cd burner and burn all the files to that keeping them divided by job numbers. It can be done by putting another Harddrive on a computer just for Data Storage. If you are doing production and the type where you keep running the same thing I would make up Job folders with the number putting A set-up sheet with a digital pic of the set-up. I would then have a shelf with the fixtures or soft-jaws numbered accordinglly. I am not sure if you are on a network but I like the way it was being done before I got to where I am now. We have a folder called 2003_mc9 as our main folder then the sub folders are the job numbers like such 1234_mc9, 2345_mc9, and etc. We then have it set-up with the 2003_nc for all of our nc files doing it the same way. If we need to do DNC then it is all set up the same way on every DNC computer from that way. You can get about 700 floppy disk on a cd. 9. May^Day Stand up for ourselves how. I am here at this job cuase I dont take no sh/t. You mess with my money or my benfits or treat me bad I try to straighten it out if possible if not then I go try ot make it better. This is only one life and got ot be happy in it. I will also add thsi for the solid moodeling I do it all the time and create parts using Mastercam I like it better than others because you dont have to create all of the Relationships when making your models in different files and can combine solids like a feaking dream. I love the solid manger and the ability to name my solid in there. I think if you give us an example or soemthing to go off of we might get it or I might be just the lost soul on this on. Crazy Millman
  10. Well just pissed off someone they just asked me if I was working told them when pigs fly out of your a??. I get enough from the wife about work now. I got a 3 day weekend going to take it. Crazy Millman

  12. Hey CMR what about the countries where the people are beign starved to death because the people who have power are keeping the food away from them. Would this not be murder. In places where they kill the frist born if it is a girl that we lose alot of our work to. The idea of this country was not to be perfect but to be inperfect so with that imprefection you get the good and the bad. You seen bad people doing things I ask did you pay attention to the good going on also. There are bad places in everywhere but if all we focus on is the bad and not try to look for the good then are just helping the bad be more important than the good around it. Just my two cents worth. Crazy Millman
  13. Well here come my two cents worth and looks like I am a day late and a dollar short on this one but what they hell. Then I thought better of it oh well. crazy millman
  14. I have only used it a 2 or 3 times and with the machines we run here and I have run and the jobs we do just not worth seeing if I can take 2 or 5 minutes off of a 1 or 2 part run. Crazy Millman
  15. I do this alot when trying to send files to someone who does not have a FTP site and they are limited to a 5mb file size on their email. Crazy Millman
  16. Hey Toolfab go to hotmail and just create a fictious account and then give everyone the name and password. Email the files to it keeping the files under 10 mb and this works great. Just a thought around the system of that seem to try to lock us in to their idea of what we should and should not do. Crazy Millman [ 08-26-2003, 11:40 PM: Message edited by: Millman^crazy ]
  17. +1 on N Franco My parnets are still together after more than 30 years My dad is going to retire from Anhues Bush next year after 25 years. Well guys in case some of you didnt know I moved to Calforina from Florida. I came out here for a Job. I like what I am doing out here and like the weather here in Carlsbad. My wife was all for the move, but lately she been different.I have got all types of comments for the last 5 months of how everything will be better once we are back in Florida. I got a call from her today crying wanting to go back to Florida and she is 6 months pregant. Needless to say didn't make for a good day. So I am sitting here reading the forum and for the frist time in over 3 years drinking a Crown and coke and trying to figure out what the hell to do. I didn't buy it my twin brother bought it while he was visiting this weekend from Florida. Guess he knew I was going to need some mellowing out huh. Crazy People do crazy things but who is to say that what is crazy is crazy if they only know what is the thing they see the impossbile then you know something else that is possbile so when you see the crazy person doing something that is suppose to be crazy are they really crazy or just showing something you have never seen before???????? Crazy Millman

  23. Well May^Day I know the reason but since we run the machines we program we can kinda get away with that. Cool Beans. Crazy Millman It is always good to jump off a diving board into the pool. There is only one thing you need to remember is to have water in the pool frist. ohhh Knew I was forgetting something.
  24. Thanks guys for the replies. I know about the multipass just sometimes I like to Rough out all of my contours with one tool and then finish wit ha second to get better finishs on my parts. So when I have 2 operation I get that desired effect but with the mulitpass you dont. For the secone result. I seen the auotdrill just thought it automatically picked all the point verses you picking them is all. Well see if you think that it is not broken dont fix-it then how do you find things like that out. Yeah I know the Mazak's May^Day we could get a whole thing going on them again but I will pass.
