Just windering what kinda speeds and feeds your all using to 3d surface like A2 material for finishing say?
What about D O C and speed and feed for A2 roughing ? ??? Just curious
Dave
Who says there not cool , They will always be Cool , did you see that there goin to re-release the older style Camaros again in the upcoming years ?
dave
no just make all the changes u want and exit then it will use those #'s for the defaults , you cannot regen defaults (just used for clearance #'s and stuff like that )
dave
what you need to do is look at the nc util, then
def ops then defaults , make all your clearance settings and depth of cut stuff there(change whatever you want) save when exiting and it will call those parameters up when you goto do 1 of those toolpaths (rember you have to make the changes to the nessary opertions in the defaults.) what I mean is that if you want changes to appear in "pocket" then change the pocket defaults and same for contour ....drilll ect...
dave
thank you thats what i've been trying to say, after testing like all of you said you are correct, BUT if you look in the docs you will see that it DOES NOT say this ....Alt F2 was supposed to be previous view ...I'm sorry for freaking out (going thru some ruff things right now at home with my kid) ,just look at the the docs and you will see that I'm right on that end of things but I do agree with you nopw that it fuctions the way you guys say it does, not like the manuals say. I guess I never payed that much attetion to what it was actually doing , i was just using the command
dave
so what they really should have said is that they miss the remap fuction for ****en F2 key right .....
if you read what I said (from install) standard mastercam with no editing of buttons ....its the same xxxx fuction ....
dave
from default install they are the same xxxx thing from 9 to x , ya you can set it to what you want but from install there the same fuction.
"unzoom" , not previous view
dave
make sure under job setup in v9 you use "from tool" in offsets and feed , if you select that option then it will use tool #'s from you standard lib.
dave
I would say use "scallop" as a last resort to anything cause it outputs huge long time wasting paths when others will do , try to stick to parallel if you can or coutour finish for z cuts, remove small corners or rads in part by using pencil passes then finish with bigger cutters then finish small rads with leftover machine
Dave
I worked in a blow mould shop with a fadal.....now I call that machine a FATAL... one night we set up triple cavity mould , watched the roughing and the start of the semi finishing, then we left for the night, next morning the machine had finished the cavities alright ...problem was it finished them 1/2" off in the X axis.....lol that wasn't funny at the time though...the FATAL people told us the macgine had "lost" its machine origin ?????? lol
Dave
Can anyone tell me the things you can do with vb ? I mean real examples of how you guys are using it in your programming ? I'm not asking for hanouts just examples or explantions of what it can do ???
Dave
Visi is one of the best solids package that I have seen , very good with "previews" and undo and redo buttons , thay have machining for it but I like Mastercam way better.
