  1. +1 bullines. i had a lot of trouble with ATI cards in my training center. swapped over the nvidia chip sets and all is good. believe it or not another card that was a pesky little problem for us was the 3d labs oxygen cards. ran mastercam well but would crash Verify consistently. just my .002 U.S.
  2. cncguy, just tried this and my verify is working fine, i wonder if it is a video issue. i am using true solids and have the solid tool option set. i also have the profile set to auto. i have in the past run into problems when the tool profile was set to "as defined". i only use this feature if i draw a custom tool to use with mastercam. my video card is an nvidia geforce2 go card with 32 megs ram. HTH
  3. Gentlemen, if you go to the Mastercam folder on your harddrive you will notice a file called CNC reg. if you open up this file you will see that mastercam can display a standard file ( windows ) or Mastercam ( bit map image ). set to standard windows and this should speed up the file get process. HTH
  4. just put on my nomex suit, so have at guys. mpotim can you feel the flames licking at your feet.
  5. jack, thanks for the reply...phil
  6. Can someone please explain to me the Mtext function for autocad. from what i understand it gives the user the ability to create notes with borders around them. ( just guessing here ). i need to know what the function does and if mastercam has any capabilities along these lines. ( c-hooks, vb scripting , etc.) any help is appreciated and no i do not want a freebee i just want to get my compass needle pointed in the right direction.....
  7. robk, 3 arcs made up of different line styles should not be duplicates unless you are setting the delete dups line style turned off. i noticed that when i created 3 different line style arcs the last arc created was the one saved. iwas able to repeat this so i think the order of creation has something to do with it...HTH
  8. Iskander, at 15 years of age i emmigrated from the great white north to the U.S. of A. even though we are right next door to each other the move was total culture shock. Learned real fast not to say "eh" at the end of my sentences. fought alot in school as i was the new kid who spoke and dressed funny. by funny dress i mean dress slacks and button down shirts instead of jeans and "T" shirts. i finally convinced my mom she was giving me a death sentence by not allowing me to where the jeans and "T" shirts. like everything else though things got better as i learned to adapt.
  9. er, ah ,that should be video, fat fingers you know...
  10. MachinemasterG, never thought of that but now my paranoid mind is working overtime. maybe i should leave a viseo of Bambi in the woods as a peace offering.
  11. how many of you guys will get a deer license to go after them bad boys. I stop hunting years ago because it is easier to hit them with my truck. i have destroyed in order, a chevy cavalier, a geo prism, an s-10 blazer. by the way the blazer got two deer in the span of one week. i think i live near a herd of suicidal deer. and yes a did have deer whistles on all vehicles
  12. the autosave feature in Mcam 9.1 can also be set to save after every toolpath operation. this is a nice feature especially when you consider that some toolpaths in mastercam can be generated in seconds. even if you have autosave set to every ten minutes or so this feature will prompt you to save after generating a toolpath.
  13. quote: If it's a lathe, I don't want to talk about it. unquote: Dave, i know your pain and once again let me thank you for your help with the sub calls on the pesky post i was working with.
  14. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to give this day off to veterans. it seems a small thing to do for someone who put their life on the line serving their country. USN 1973-1976
  15. hey does anyone have a light bulb for a GE multiwattage desklamp with a 3 position switch. i just bought the lamp and my reseller doesn't have the correct bulb. oh buy the way, it can also sub out christmas bulbs so any of those will be appreciated as well.
  16. looks great, i feel a little like Kermit the frog
  17. Agent Smith rules. think about it a computer program that hates being a computer program. i think that Neo and Agent smith will have it out in the last movie as agent smith is now a rogue applet with his own agenda.
  18. Mac users can buy software called Virtual PC. This is a product from Microsoft that will allow windows programs to run in MAC. I don't know how much of a preformance hit you would take doing this but it is an option..
  19. rek'd , beat me to the punch once again. how am i suppose to get to 200 posts for an avatar if you guys steal my thunder all the time ( jes kiddin)
  20. you could also try the project blend toolpath method. Mastercam just did a piece on it in their customer news letter...
  21. this country was founded on the belief of individual freedoms, yet you guys seem hell bent on denying others their right to choose because you don't agree with it..shame shame
  22. sounds like a perfect opportunity for the new project blend toolpath.
