  1. Hi all, I'm trying to get the STL after I run Verify over to our Engineering Dept, to create process prints from what I just cut but not having any luck with this. is their a format that I could use to do this?
  2. I'm quoting up a job that is made of this Material in a casting what should I expect with Machine Speeds & Feeds and depth of cuts?
  3. Some Resellers offer that depends on how big the reseller is.
  4. Don't know if you can get away with a vise but Kurt Work holding has a nice 5 Axis Vise if a Techni-Grip won't work.
  5. Unrolling the Geometry for a toolpath like that works great.
  6. For Alum, should be fine I only have problems when it comes to using them in Steel the tip chip's fast.
  7. Hey murrymold were can you puchase wheel blanks that are turned and you only have to mill the center out?
  8. Good luck on your new job Robert. You never stop learning hence the purpose of this forum.
  9. I've also noticed it only after running a big file thru Verify even with X3MU1.
  10. With TI the side of the Endmill cuts better I've done both on much smaller parts and I always crashed & burned milling downward with an endmill but taking steps with the side of the endmill holds up a lot better. HTH
  11. It's all based on the tolorance. I use "Depth" because I'm usually doing .0006-.0004 size "D" shapes and I need to control the finishes and I can't push the .060 Dia, endmill's I'm using. HTH

  13. I've tried to save a file from X3MU1 to X2 or even MC9 but cannot save Operations Manager info?
  14. I've posted a file on the FTP Site under X3 Files called 5100-410-804 I'm trying to do a rotated cut with a custom tapered endmill I do this a lot here but can never get Mastercam to produce the code I need. I always do it by hand and I know Mastercam should be able to do this. TIA Ted
  15. Personaly I would get CAMplete myself but I have a lot of different Machines and 3 diferent seats at 2 locations anywere from Twin turn DMG to Hardinge Quest's and Tilt Rotary 5x (Mori Seiki & Matsuura) so to purchase that system would be a lot of $ and I know how much I can and can't get away with here. Thats why Machine Sim is right for me.
  16. Yes John I know been around these parts awhile I should have prepared myself better!
  17. WOW did I hit a sore subject or what. I only brought it up because after I got an email from In-house on a reply to me about ordering their Setup Sheet Chook I had found out they will not be working on them after X4 comes out because X4 will have its own Setup Sheet Chook. And the beta testers already have been working with it. Didn’t mean to start anything!!!
  18. Just seeking info are we going to see it this year?
  19. Strabe, I'd like to see that if you wouldn't mind? Greatly appreciated.
  20. thanks guys I did both changes and its working great. This is a program right from Renishaw not something that I came up with. Thanks again for the help!!!
