When you call out critical depths
Mc won't blow them off anymore and will leave your drive stock amount on them instead of just
A positive stock amount of whatever your Depth of cut is set for.
So if its -.200 deep and you have a ledge at -.08
and you say leave .01 drive stock and your d.o.c.
is -.05 it will cut it at -.05 then blow past it to
the next d.o.c. at -.100 leaving +.03 on it
instead of +.01 unless you called the -.08
in critical depths. Then it would make a -.07
pass for you .
I just use contour.
If there is any elevation change MC will
pick it up and toggle the toolpath to a 3d contour.
*Edit*
It won't let me upload, so i'll email it to you.

If you need to get going Now I would try the generic posts that come with
MC starting with MPFAN.
A simple peck drill then a contour and
then a 3d contour.
See if you get any errors.
I do not use Rest mill because of all the
added moves.I just get creative and make
some pocket boundries to clean the stock out. operation 1 "Clean up the walls and stay off the floor by .005"
Operation 2 "Nail the Z and stay off the wall by .005" It works......
"As my Crusader gently creeps"
played by Paul Harrison...
We only use are crusaders for hole drilling
not alot of code in drilling and you can Mirror
For working on the bottom of the block.
In the voice of Dr.Phil
"You just don't get it do ya,
You just don't get it"
Oh and on the surface thing...
In Shading,Tighten up your chordal deveation to
.0002 poof, gaps are gone.
Here is what I do.
If I know that the regen is going to be time consuming and I am not sure if it will even do what I want it to do, I will take it all in one pass or in surfacing in passes of .01+ or something.
Then it regens in a snap and if it cut all
the areas I wanted cut nicely I will then
Set it for depth cuts of .002 etc.
Tony Sprinting for the 200 Mark
Surface rough pocket, leave a couple of grand for cleaning them up.
Then contour a row of bosses
climb milling, and make sure your bosses contour is a true arc not a spline or it will look like a stop sign not a clean circle.
(Watch your lead in out so you dont gouge )
You might have to tweak your start point in
the chain manager, I would use dynamic mode)
then transform your toolpath X amount of times
each row(If there in a row) ?
If you can't find these things just ask.
most of the time when I am surfacing
I keep the Feedrate and the plunge rate the same.
The machine cuts smoother then if it had to
keep adjusting its feedrates all over the place.
Full size tool in MC
.000 tool diameter in the control
To size you cut -.001 in the control etc.
*Except when you Tap then you must call out the tool in the control or the speeds n feeds wont sync.(You will only do that once)!

As an apprentice I remember
Beating the Handle of a vice with a mega sized Beater because it would go 180 degrees and stop solid Good bye Handle
Ends up it was a Hydrulic vise
Don't even ask me what I did to the 90 deg head
I had never heard of Jack screws ...
