  1. XP Pro With latest Service Packs Probalbly not Mastercam Problem - but has anyone seen this - if I go to the control panel to add or remove progams it lists the software installed but does not show any size for the software and the box for unistall or repair is missing so I cannot uninstall any programs including previous versions of Mastercam Thanks for any input
  2. Back and bottom do not work for A axis because of the X axis orientation - if you think of a box with lettering on all sides when you view the box from the back or bottom the lettering appears correct - but if you take tranparent box and view lettering on the back of the box from the front view the letters appear mirror image - ie: the X axis is pointing the opposite way from the front view - so you need to create a new c-plane for the rotation to work
  3. In Machine def Files tab - mill There is a box "write nc operations info" see if that is checked
  4. In the tranform rotate ops - change toolplane to coordinates and see if that helps -
  5. Using X2 MR1 Mplfan.pst Lathe Toolpaths In Machine def - coolant comands - I have tried both settings for "support coolant using values in post" In "lathe inch defaults" coolant flood is set to on - but coolant is not urned on when a toolpath is generated - does each tool have to be set to coolant on - does the tool library have to be edited one tool at a time - is there a post setting to change? Thanks for any help
  6. No the feature is greyed out
  7. Running X2 SP1 When facing the use stock to define the cuts works - but choosing two points is greyed out - using Mplfan post - anyone else seeing this Thanks for any help
  8. Backplot the toolpath and save that as geometry then use the previous suggestions to create a lofted surface
  9. Using X2 MR1 SP1 Toolpaths are created in mill I select one toolpath The Toolpath editor shows in the bottom of the operations manager but it is greyed out and will not allow selection Is there some setting that I am overlooking? Thanks for any help
  10. If you select doc file from the operations manager and print this I think it will do what you want for tool lists - it doesnt give as much info as setup sheets however
  11. Cant quite tell from your drawing what the c-plane is - but I have found when unrolling geometry it ends up at the unrolled radius number not from the center of rotation - the solution was to project the unrolled geo back to the center dim of the plane - seems like it should unroll to the center but it doesnt
  12. "create curves spline" will give you a spline "create point segment" - give the length and it will create points at intervals along the spline Break the spline at the points Extend each spline segment a short distance create a point at the extended end break the spline at the original end point create a line using the original spline point and the extended spline point Under planes choose "planes by normal" choose the end of the line at the original spline end this will give you a c-plane normal to the spline There may be a shorter more elegant solution but this should get what you want
  13. it is looking for the profile to create along a path - in your case this would be the radius you are trying to generate - create this radius - then it will ask for the along path which is the path the tool will travel along to create the radius - think of taking a radius guage and passing around tha top of a box
  14. It looks like "sidetilt angle" setting controls that - a setting of 45 looks to set the tool at th angle you want
  15. RMB to set only mask from quick mask menu
  16. Use RMB to lock a function to the MRU bar Synchronize tool and c-planes to view sheets Tolerance settting in select by Dia.
  17. Make sure the last item in each list holds stock or tools - if you have more than one in each list make sure the first one is not checked when you check axis combos - also found even legal ones would not show unless they were saved and the list exited then go back to machine def and they will show axis combos - might also check to see it your simm has the machine you are building enabled
  18. I am using the new planes to set rotary axis rotation so I am usng the planes dialog box
  19. If I create a c-plane using geometry and then go to another plane for some ops - when I try to go back to the orignal plane if I choose by geometry or by the name - it creates a new plane the same as the original but with a new name - it works but the plane list now contains duplicate names for the same plane - also it wont let me save the first plane I created Anyone else see this or am I missing something?
  20. How can I create Material libraries that can be used by different programmers - I see how to create tool libraries and how to assign materials to different machines but how to create a set of material libraries that diffrent programmers can access anytime they want Thanks for any help
  21. I can't get to the FTP site - as long as coons works I'll be OK Thanks OWL - tried the link but no luck - guess the lesson is make backups Thanks for replies eveyrone
  22. Yes it is Zip drive - looks like the file track is corrupt - is there a data recovery program that will restore the file structure I start with all the alongs on one oneside then work in the same direction on all the other alongs - then start in the same corner and pick all the acrosses - this works with coons but will not work for me in net
  23. Is it possible to create net surfaces with more than one patch in along and across by selecting geometry - no matter what sequence I try it says " across curves out of sequence" - it works if colors are changed and average is used and geometry is selected in a window - coons works fine by selecting geometry individually Also I have a zip disk when I try to select files it shows a bunch of strange symbols - anyone have advice on recoverey of these files Thanks for any help
  24. If you mirror the geometry and select a tool in the bottom turret rotated the proper way you can regenerate the toolpath and see it in the bottom orintation - you do have a different toolpath though - so save the origial first
